Eliza hesitates but speaks up. "No- yes- I don't-" She struggles for words before landing on what she wants to say. "Just take Echo back to Camp. I'm going out for a bit." She then turns and walks past them, heading more out into the forest. She heard what Zaver said, thought it was a damn good idea. He'll deal with Echo, and Eliza calms down, just with someone? Yeah no, she's going by herself.

Zaver - Warrior of Normal - 5yrs - Location: Woods - Tags: Eliza, Echo, Rebel
Another sigh escaped Zaver's maw as he glanced towards Rebel. "Do you think you could keep an eye on her. I know she said she wants to be alone, but I'm worried she may find trouble. And not just within her thoughts." He shook his coat, trying to shake off some of the tension he was feeling. "If you don't want to tail behind her though I wouldn't blame you, Rebel."

Echo - Pup of Normal - 7months - Location: Woods - Tags: Eliza, Zaver, Rebel
Echo watched as Eliza left, leaving her in Zaver's care. Her ears pressed against her head, "Does she hate me now..." Zaver's ears flicked at the pups words and he shook his head, "Eliza would never hate you, she is just concerned. Our world is nothing like it used to be, Echo. You should understand that more than anyone. While you are correct about needing to learn, we can't just send you off without care." Echo nodded staying silent for a bit.

Rebel nodded at Zaver briefly, turning his head towards Eliza somberly.

He turned and hoofed, or pawed, it towards Eliza, keeping a comfortable distance behind the she wolf.

The sound of the forest came alive as he padded behind the alpha. The sound of squirrels chattering, birds having their evening chat, even otters playing in the river, along with the panting of trotting wolves.

Rebel loved to listen. To him, there was a secret language in every noise, like the sounds of deer hooves striking dirt, or the ticking sound from bobcat claws scratching on a tree.

The return to camp was a peaceful union of silence and calm. Moving steadily at a gaited trot, heavy mitts rose and fell in a rhythm, meeting the ground in pairs. Muscles beneath a blanket of fur coiled like springs. Tensing before snapping undone, pushing her forward steadily and gracefully. Trudging through the forest toward the pack's den site, her satchel weighed heavier than usual, not from the supplies that had been carefully gathered, but from the tangle of emotions she couldn't quite shake, and for a moment, she felt a fleeting sense of peace. The quiet of the woodland, the simple rhythm of her steps, it all felt so far from the harshness of their reality. That was the epiphany of the very first lesson learned by the damsel. There was give and take, it was the cost of every little decision and choice, every thought and desire. To get, you needed to give. With every positive, there was always a negative. For as free as Eira felt, peaceful for the moment, it came at a cost. Loneliness. A pressure on her chest like a weighted blanket, suffocating and inescapable once devoured. That was the price of her so-called peace.

Inhaling a deep breath, there came a moment of pause before it was released through a heavy sigh. It wasn't easy, the ability to calm yourself. Inhale, exhale. A trick conditioned after years, Eira shook her head as if to cast the thoughts away. 'Focus, Eira. There's work to be done.'  Her voice echoed in her mind, resounding and reprimanding. Forcing herself to continue forward, by the time she reached the edge of the pack's den site, she was all so desperate to reach her lodge. Met with the sounds of pack life which filtered through the trees in a chorus of laughter, barks, and low murmurs, they merged into one loud mess, a melancholic song of survival that she had yet to grow accustomed to. A reminder that life continued despite everything.

Reaching the camp's border, the maiden slowed her pace instinctively, her ears swiveling forward as the faint murmurs of a conversation that had caught her attention. Familiar with voices over names, her eyes narrowed slightly as she caught the tail end of words. A discussion she had stumbled upon, and although she couldn't decipher the topic, she could sense the uncertainty and daunt lacing their voices. The concern in one, the female was unmistakable, and the attempt to reassure was not unexpected from the pup sitter. The sire was somewhat a different story. His confidence in posture was fickle, for it didn't chase away the doubt reflecting through his eyes even as his fur bristled.

The exchange might have seemed trivial to anyone else, but Eira's instincts flared to life. Her doe irises flicked between the two wolves as she stepped closer, her gaze sharp and assessing; Clinical. She searched for any signs of injury or illness, after all, the turned and 'gifted' weren't the only threat in this world; even the smallest weakness could spell disaster for their fragile survival. It was a reality even more true for those without powers. Thus, to rely on one another was a necessity.

Once certain there were no obvious contusions to either canid, it settled her somewhat. The tension in her muscles eased if only slightly, it was still visible, her stiff posture loosening up. Allowing her to take a confident stride toward the pair. Her tail once limp, now offered a small, confident flick in greeting. Joined by the small tip of her cranium. "Is everything okay?" The female inquired. Her tone was honeyed and velvety, carried by an unwavering accent of origin. Her expression firm, but still. Holding a hint of curiousness as she awaited a response from either canine.

Eliza continues on her walking, ears pinned back, tail still behind her. She pauses and looks back at Rebel, almost with a growl. "Go back to camp, Rebel." She didn't care what the others thought was good for her, she needed to be alone more than anything right now.

Rebel had froze when Eliza had scowled him. He knew what he had to do, even if he would get bit in the first place.

Rebel lengthened his stride, walking side by side with the she wolf now, but not so close as to make her uncomfortable.
"Listen," he said soft but sharp. "I don't know what happened back there, and it is absolutely none of my business, but solitude never,"
he paused for a second, choosing his last words carefully.

"Ever, help a wolf with anything." His eyes sparkled at Eliza as he searched her face for something, some kind of a happy glint.

"I'll leave if you want me to." He finished subtly, preparing for literally anything.

He slightly tripped on a large rock as they walked, causing him to cuss out Lupus quietly.

Eliza hesitates before speaking up, collecting her thoughts that demand to be alone. "You can stay or go back to Camp. You're choice. Don't get too loud or too close. I wouldn't want to hurt you without meaning to." Her tone had a snarl, clearly upset and angry. She watches Rebel almost fall, glancing at him with a "are you serious?" Kind of look

Rebel gave a slight embarrassed look after the trip, but he replied to her lost note. "Affirmative." He said sharply, turning his head straight forward.

He noticed her snappy tone. He didn't look at her, didn't try to pry, but he suggested to Eliza. "Talking about it may help."
