(oh noooooo time for the fawns dad to die, sad)

Frost got a weird sense of wrong but dismissed it hoping it was just a feeling.Lilith had curled up next to her after asking her father to spend the night with frost. Why the fawn liked her so much frost wasn't sure but she didn't mind the little fawn she found her pretty cute actually. The father had talked to her a few minutes prior and went to go see if he could find any berries to show Lilith the next day.

Frost kept one eye open as she laid there next to Lilith feeling somewhat responsible for the little fawn. She kept thinking she heard something but she dismissed it each time but every time it came back her worry grew.

Yalaktinos started to back off when he saw the humans heading to the forest. He should go to warn his herd immediately... As the male turned to walk off, he froze on his spot. Right in front of him was a hound growling and glaring at him. The stag's ears pressed tightly against his neck. He took a step back, but the growling hound followed him. Then suddenly the dog started to bark alerting his humans.

"Look Jack! Bettie found pretty nice one!" One of the hunters called out to his friend aiming straight towards Yalaktinos before he fired. Few birds flied away as the sound echoed in the forest cutting the peaceful and pleasant song the birds had been singing. The bullet had just narrowly avoided Yalaktinos who was running quickly towards his herd knowing that he had to protect them. However, it wasn't any easier that he could hear and feel the hound running right behind him along with the humans. Knowing that he couldn't lead the hound to his herd, the male did a tight turn even though the sudden movement made his limb feel like it was on fire. He pushed the pain far back in his mind and continued towards one of the many cliffs that surrounded the herd. He got to warn them somehow, he had to.

Yalaktinos had purposefully chosen the most difficult route to save time. He might not have been as fast and agile as the rest of deer, but he still was far faster and more agile than the hound. Besides, he was large animal and had easier time navigating between the rocks due to his thin and long legs. Once he reached the cliff, Yalaktinos stopped at the edge before he bellowed out a warning for his entire herd.

Frosts head flew up her first thought was -I KNEW IT- she nudged lilith "up hurry" she said until lilith got up "go to one of the doe's in your herd" she said and Lilith darted away while frost looked at Yalaktinos trying to figure out what was happening based on how he look.then she heard a shot the only thing that made that sound was humans,Frost forgetting her fear and worry darted around the herd waking up anyone thagt was still asleep her long legs moved her in auto pilot as she nudged doe's,fawns, and bucks and telling them was was happening. The bucks looked more scared than the doe's which made sense as any hunter will shoot a buck. Then she realized she would be on the list, she was colored far differently there for something a human would want.

After making sure everyone was awake and moving she began helping the oldest and youngest of the herd. She of course didnt know any of them which some questioned why she would help them which all she said was "i know what its like to get hit" and then shed be gone.

Yalaktinos was pleased to see that his herd had listened to his warning even though he couldn't be there with him. The dog had finally found its way to him and was growling at him again. This time, however, Yalaktinos lowered his antlers making them to point straight at the hound. He wasn't afraid to use his only weapon that was available. However, the dog must have been very valuable, because when a hunter saw that his precious animal was threatened, he fired at Yalaktinos' again.

The stag's eyes were wide with fear as it reared on it's hind legs avoiding the bullet. However, the sudden movement of his antlers had knocked him out of balance making the male fall down on the meadow with a thud. His shoulder burned where the bullet had scraped him and the stag was breathing heavily. His ears were pressed tightly against his neck and he tried to get back on his legs, but landing on his left side hadn't been a good thing. It was difficult for him to get up even when laying on his right side and he never laid on his left side.

Listening the panicked sounds of his herd and the sounds of the predator, Yalaktinos knew that he had to try one more time. He couldn't betray his herd's trust. He had to protect them. He had failed once, he couldn't fail to protect them again.

it is almost time for me to throw in the other girlie, she is basically the fearless doe that should of been a buck bc God girl just don't care XD))

Frost had stopped at the sound and was watching frozen in place.Until Liliths dad a relatively large buck with a brown coat nudged her to run which she nodded to him and ran.
Lilith's dad darted into the trees and leaped over a fallen tree.He knew that the stag needed help and he was likely out numbered so he chose to go and try to help.He just hoped it didnt cost his life.(it does XD)Suddenly he flew out of the trees and rammed the dog with his antlers flinging it into a tree. The dog limped away and he walked to stand next to Yalaktinos happy to finally be a use to the herd.

the hunter shot and missed a Direct shot but the bullet grazed his side and he stomped his feet looking at Yalaktinos with a look that said -if u go down so do i-

(the hero will go down in history XD)

Yalaktinos looked up sensing someone on there and the usual kindness filled the stag's eyes when he saw the other male. He knew him well, he was brave and had raised a beautiful foal. Many would have left already, but yet there he was ready to fight for the herd's future. His friend's presence giving him courage, the stag tried to get up once more and this time he managed to do so. He quickly adjusted his position into a more comfortable one standing next to the other male ready to protect his herd with all cost.

"You should go and make sure that the others escape safely. I will take care of this," Yalaktinos said. Even though he appreciated his help, he couldn't afford sacrificing a member of herd. If someone was sacrificed, it should be him and no one else.

(Oh my, she will be a very interesting doe then XD)

He shook his head "the other males and that strange doe is leading them away you need help so I'm going to help you" he said. The human had been getting closer and he leaped at it almost hitting them with his antlers. Then stepped back to say something "just make sure Lilith is ok shes all that I really have" he said his eyes softened and then hardened with the fresh pain of his late mates death.

Turning back to the human he shook his head and pawed the ground warning them. The human paused possibly re thinking but then they raised their gun again.

(oh hell ya she will)

"I will take care of her like she would be my own," Yalaktinos promised joining the other stag trying to make the humans to leave them alone. He had a feeling that this fight wouldn't end well, it never ended well when there were humans and their strange pipes involved. However, when Yalaktinos saw the human preparing to shoot once more, the stag's eyes widened in horror realizing where the gun was pointing.

"No... No!" he called out trying to push his friend away from the line of fire.

Yalaktinos' eyes widened in horror when he saw his friend being hit. Filled with sudden rage that they dared to hurt one of his, Yalaktinos rammed into the human not caring about his horrified look. The stag didn't feel any mercy towards the creature that had dared to hurt Lilith's father in such a horrible way. Calming down a little, the great prince of the forest quickly rushed to the other stag laying down behind him so he could rest against him.

"You got it, you got it my friend," he reassured the other looking at him worriedly. He knew that there wasn't much time left, he was too badly injured. "You fought well, the whole herd owes you their lives," he said his voice soft and gentle. It hid pain of knowing that this was a lost battle as well as gratitude for all the years he had known the other stag.

(It really is)
