I want to make Ripple my new leader and stud, was wondering if that was a good idea and a worthwhile expense, and should I use an Event applicator on them?

Ripple has become Male and now has Abyssal base. I was informed of a disturbing lack of markings on him, however.
Here are the Marking applicators that I possess:

- Marking Set Applicator [Freckles]
- Marking Set Applicator [Peacock]
- Markings Applicator [Akhlut]
- Markings Applicator [Abomination]
- Markings Applicator [Beast]
- Markings Applicator [Kin]
- Markings Applicator [Merged]
- Markings Applicator [Monster]
- and a lot of RMAs

Please let me know what's desirable, currently!! I want him to have pretty markings :D

Ths is really tricky because...

They have amazing stats, but are a TII, with little markings. If you are willing to buy RMAs, marking applicaters and a base changer, they would be really valuable. But again, its not guaranteed for them popular, and you might not gain back the money you spent. But, for the most part, do you like them?

Yeah, there's not one way to play this game, so depending on your own goals and preferences, only you can say if it's a good idea! Generally people spend more (WD) money on their studs and leads they ever get back by studding if that's what you're asking

Studs that are more popular tend to be:
Generation 1 (or sometimes 2)
A T* or T3 base
High stat (like yours)
10 markings
Rarer markings
Rarer eyes, particularly raffle or some breed only are getting very popular
Mutation, with piebald frontal the least popular pie
Natural

But obviously very few studs have all of these, mine for example scores about half but I still make plenty off him. More importantly, I love him and I breed with him within my own pack and even if nobody else was interested I would still be happy. I suggest picking a wolf that you feel the same about!

Also, if you want to buy marking apps etc, I suggest searching in the trading Center for whatever you want and ordering by price :)

I'm hoping not to spend any money whatsoever, I've got a decent amount of GC (40ish), I try not to spend money on games. I do, however, have A LOT of event base/marking applicators. And I've got a lot of RMAs as well. Judging by your responses, I'd say that as I've already spent an Abyssal Base applicator to buy them, I might as well do it.
Thank you for your insights, I'll make up my mind when they're 1 year old and make them scout before my lead retires and dies.

FYI, the trading centre doesn't use real money, it uses Wolvden money, GC and SC which is what I was referring to by money, no need to spend real money on the game. So you could sell some of your apps and buy other ones if you wanted a particular one, not saying you should, just that you can! Hope you find a lead/ study you're happy with :)

Oh I thought when you said money, you meant the irl currency spent on GC lmao, thanks for clearing it up. Sadly they're not a carrier or first gen, but I think the stats can turn out pretty decent.

Nope haha, sorry for the confusion! I don't think most people use real-life money, I certainly didn't spend any on my stud, only WD money. Yours already has fab stats even as an adolescent, already more than most studs, never mind when you're battling with him, so I suspect he'll get traction just from that. He's also got raffle eyes which is a big selling point to some people. If he were mine I would definitely change his base though as T2 aren't popular as studs at all

Wow, I did not know those were Raffle eyes, I was almost going to use an Eye applicator! But yeah, I got a lot of base apps from this event and a bunch of former Lunar ones, but as I have no idea what they look like (I've just been hoarding them), I was wondering if you have any base recommendations?

You can test different bases in the wardrobe! I have to say you clearly prefer natural wolves, looking at your pack, and I do not so perhaps take my opinion with a pinch of salt, but I quite like aklut if you want him to stay looking quite close to how he is, or I love how umbra looks on him. But I suggest just having a play in the wardrobe and seeing what you like!

Edit: some of the T3 bases from applicators, Badger, fox and caribou in case you're interested in those
