I'm trying to find a wolf to set as my stud, but I'm struggling to figure out what kind of wolves people generally look for. What traits should I breed or look for in a wolf that I want to set as my stud? |

so of course this is very opinion based (everyone has a preference and wants when it comes to studs!), but from my experience- people tend to look for studs that 'have it all' lol what i mean by that- NBW/G1 studs are highly sought after because people like wolves with a very small lineage (whether it's because of the aesthetic of having a G1 stud or to avoid inbreeding with longer lineage wolves), so finding a 'chased'/G1/NBW wolf or one with a low generation is best when it comes to bases, most people prefer breeding with TIII (or T* if you like the event/colorful look) because these bases are the rarest and have the best chance at producing other rare bases in that tiers respected level. TII and TI bases don't do well as a public stud because if they aren't bred to a TIII female, then they have zero chance of producing a TIII or T* (rare) base EDIT: don't know how i forgot this but raffle eyes- raffle eyes are eyes from the special stud of the week raffle and shoot your chances at having a 'successful' profitable stud up by so much- since they are breed only, they're very rare and a lot of people don't even consider studs who don't have raffle eyes! at the time of posting, i'd say that husky eyes are most sought after, but there is also novus, dark hazel, steel blue, storm, smoke, dust, holly, etc- they're all beautiful but again, preferences! 10 markings, majority of them 'rare'. this is another sought after trait because who doesn't love having a full set of markings on their litters. but most importantly, rare marks. these can range from T2-T8 marks (there is nuance in there, like T7 marks are overpopulated and lowkey common now), T2 being special stud marks, T3 being event marks (nuance in here too because theres some amazing T3 marks that are natural toned, but the majority are unnatural/colorful, depends on your preference!), T6 marks being combo/breed only marks (my personal favorite c:), T7 being RMA special marks (overproduced and common now lowkey), and T8 marks which are NBW exclusive marks - that being said, the more rare marks, the better, and most people prefer a stud with all ten marking slots filled stats- the higher the stats, the better of course. in my opinion, most people would look for a chaser stud (because chaser studs gain stats in speed and agility, which means the pups they produce will have a chaser lean, and chasers are the most common role needed to be filled in a pack since you need three chasers per hunting party), but like- my stud is a stalker, so his stats produce pups with stalker leans- but because i breed him most often with chaser stat females, it creates a nice distribution between 4/5 stats for the pups! little side note on stats- the higher gen your stud is, the higher that stats should be. so common NBW studs (that aren't leads) typically produce pups with stats between 300-500 stats total. so if you have a stud that's gen 5 and he's producing the same amount of stats that a NBW stud is producing, it's kinda like eh because a 'high gen' stud should have bangin stats for having such a large lineage (hoping this makes sense lol) my point- if you have a high gen stud, he's gonna need to make up for his big lineage elsewhere whether that be a great base, great marks, or most common with high gen studs- impeccable stats there's other little niches that you can look at such as wanting studs with mutations (piebalds, albinism, melanism, etc), but for the most part- this is typically the demand i see from people (myself included!) i hope no one else who reads this takes offense in any way because again, this is just my observation based on which studs are most popular that have been out in the field since i've been playing (couple years) and of course, i have injected some of my personal preference in there as well because everyone has preferences! :) BUT, please please please choose a stud YOU like. everything i just wrote is my observation of which studs do 'the best' in the market, so my advice that i've provided here is simply based on what the majority of people i've seen look for if you're looking to have a successful stud on the market that brings in profit. but it is so important that you, too, like your stud and have a stud with qualities that you want- because at the end of the day, there are without a doubt other people that will like your stud who have the same preferences as you! i hope this helped and wasn't too overwhelming (i apologize LMAOOOO i can write a lot) |

All of the ones in the trading post are super expensive so I currently can't afford them. One day though. Maybe I can find a pretty chased male once I get my main wolf to level 10. |

it is absolutely a grind for sure, trying to nail all those 'desirable traits' in one fell swoop, it will happen tho eventually! and yes! once you start seeing chased, your opportunities for finding some pretty rare wolves go up by so much! just keep grinding, it'll happen🤞🏻 and i wanna throw this out there but PLEASE don't feel pressured! but if you are interested, i'm happy to throw you a refunded breeding to my stud but ONLY if you like his traits! he's not for everyone (i'm literally addicted to combo marks LOL) so please feel free to reject, i understand completely! but i just want to put the offer out there because gosh i remember the beginning trying to find a suitable stud and wanting to breed pretty pups but just strugglinnnn to get things movin😩 and who doesn't love a free breeding lollll if you're interested, feel free to dm and we can set it up with one of your females :) i'm happy to help however i can other than that, i wish you luck with your breedings and journey to your perfect stud |

Omg, I'd love that! I just need to figure out which female of mine would work best with him. Unfortunately all of the T2+ ones have been bred recently so I'll have to wait 😔 |
