Pro and cons about Glacier, Tundra or Taiga?

Hi guys, still after just returning after years long hiatus, I still want to move north on the biome map. And wonder if anyone would be willing to share their experience if Glacier, Tundra or Taiga are decent to balance if you try keep small and consistent packs while also making sure future pups are born with decent stats? Tbh I don't even care if I will have to struggle with some lineage breeding to survive in north for the stats sake.
My first thought was between Glacier or Taiga. But I heard Glacier might be challenging?
I couldn't find any player experience info about Taiga or Tundra though.
So please tell me more if you have anything to share.

I'm a statter too, so welcome back to the stats race. I also favor cooler northern biomes, so I know how you feel. My pack has lived in the Taiga for many generations and I just had my new generation born with 640-700 stats. My highest statted wolf is at 1671 right now with my other hunters close behind. My large hunts are usually successful, both here in the Taiga and up in the Tundra. My pack eats mostly caribou, elk, moose, and muskox, with puppies eating a variety of leftovers and small prey. I've sent my hunting teams up onto the Glacier and they've caught large prey there too (including a 30-use walrus!). Life is pretty good here. If I was going to move anywhere, it would be up to the Tundra. I don't think I would want to live on the Glacier, given the higher difficulty. But I would be happy to send more hunts up there sometimes, and with three teams in my next generation, I should be able to without worrying that my pack will go hungry.

Hi Spotpc
Thanks so much for sharing all that info and the welcome back.
Sounds like Taiga then could be a perfectly first stop then and try my hand from there to see how it goes, <3
I just wonder do you make any SC out of your statters or do you mostly just hunt and sell food to gain a living?
Since most people are turned away from long bloodlines and inbred ones?

I make most of my SC by selling food and toys to Raccoon or in the TC. I sometimes have a stud up for requests, but I don't usually get a lot of interest. There are higher statted studs out there than mine, so most stat breeders use those. My wolves have started to become more inbred now because I want to breed specific stats for certain roles and my own wolves are the best for that. And my wolves have no rare bases/markings. Being frugal and keeping money is just as important as earning it though. I don't over-breed, or buy wolves or items that I don't need. Being a stat breeder helps with that because I'm not tempted to waste money on cosmetic stuff for my wolves.

Sounds very ideal and supporting in long run indeed. As much as I love fancy wolves, I do hope keeping to try keep Albinos and Melanism wolves will prevent me from going down the very expensive marking market indeed and just focus about stats mostly. Besides the ones I can easily incorporate with breeding into my lines from NBW or others offsprings. And just in general try sell off stuff from events to keep me going on sex changer for example.

Oh yes, I always need sex changers, and sometimes personality changers because I only want friendly and romantic wolves. But I have enough SC/GC to buy those whenever I need them.
A stud that carries a mutation like albinism or melanism will be very popular. A lot of players want those.

Going to jump in and say, that I went up to Tiaga as a complete newb and survived. Went south next and I want to go home! lol I liked the amounts and kind of prey up there much more. And I agree on the needing to have the newest thing to get breedings. I am someone who likes high stats and patches or pies tho, and rainbows so I get a few now that I have a higher stat wolf. But mostly, I'm breeding to my own and saving a lot more $$. lol
