Disallow Inbreeding to fix the economy

Posted 2024-09-28 17:09:59
I think, then, the issue is not with the disallowing of inbreeding, but with the horrible RNG of breeding in general. If breeding was either less RNG based, or the RNG was more forgiving, we could have both economically viable G3+ wolves and all the markings we want. :) But that's a different suggestion (I believe it has already been made)!

I'm gonna have to oppose, though it's a fairly decent idea…
I don't care about inbred wolves because it doesn't happen (that often at least) irl and in my opinion, being blocked to breed wolves with any sort of inbred lines would frustrate me because as of right now, there's nothing lethal in-game with inbred wolves. While it does happen in dogs, wolves typically only inbreed irl if they're "domesticated" in a way and are forced to while a female is in heat.
Then again, I am sort of biased on this because I have multiple inbred wolves in game and actually have an inbreeding project with two siblings? Half siblings? I'm not sure, but their line is to make inbred pups

support! also i think chased NBW's would still have their ancestry shown once they join your pack. it's just silly to me that wolves absolutely lose their worth after 2nd gen. keeping the inbreeding is ok but i'd just like to fix that whole thing of chased NBWs losing their ancestry, i think it'd be more fun to play with lineages and have people actually put effort into breeding the kinds of wolves they want

@rivojaska Totally agree, that's actually a really good idea and I'd implore you to make your own suggestion topic to add it. You'd have my full support!
