If I understand correctly...
A normal marking applicator will give your wolf one marking. An unfolded markings applicator will give multiple markings at once.

I believe the unfolded markings allow you to choose from more options than the regular applicator. 		BeckoGecko

The unfolded markings are the rest of the markings of that color that weren't released before.
