Can you take away an immortal jellyfish / get formally immortal wolf into dynasty?

Hi! I'm planning out some lore stuff and I'm wondering- if you give a jellyfish to a wolf and it becomes immortal but you later decide you'd rather use your immortal slot for a different wolf is there a way to kill the original wolf so they still appear in your dynasty?

There should be a retire button if you have them unsecured, I think that should make it go back to the dynasty. I'm not entirely sure, but it seems like a reasonable way
