sarju's brows further knitted in worry. "it looks rather deep, let us escort you to narmada," he suggested before looking around, the bear battle and carcass would surely bring attention, presumably unwanted attention.

suvi stood up and shook her fur. the female then looked around, smelling the air to make sure nothing was near. "we should hurry before scavengers get here," she said, not implying that raccoons would come nearby but rather coyotes, mountain lions, or other large creatures.

sarju's opened his mouth to speak but suvi cut him off. "if she does not think that narmada has what she needs, do not force her," the female advised, flicking her tail, "just know our den is always open for you." she then glanced at meghna before turning, "we must return to tell saraswati the news."

sarju swallowed his words and dipped his head toward vera, "thank you for the lesson. shame it ended with a bear."

(we can have them split ways rn then time skip to later in the day ^^ maybe vera can be in the forest n vasishta finds her after coming back from her scouting lesson, unless u want vera to go back to the den too n then timeskip until vasishta comes back

"farewell," sarju called out to Vera as she left before she followed the other three wolves who were already heading back.

by the time vasishta returned to the mountain, it was late afternoon. her fur was ruffled from the winds, her pelt still carrying the faint scent of the places she traveled. her and the other scouts sadly didn't reach the spoken-of swampy woodland but had traversed the grassland and found deciduous forest.

upon her return to the den, the first thing she did was look for vera but to her shock and horror, her packmates had said she had split ways after a bear attacked the hunters. vasishta didn't even excuse herself before she bolted out of the den to find her friend. she searched the lakeside before going to search in the forest. following the faint scent trail, vasishta found the now half-eaten bear carcass and then followed the direction vera went to, hoping to find her.

the faint scent trail finally led vasishta to another lake where vera was. upon seeing her friend, the wolf relaxed and let out a soft sigh. she then walked over to the other wolf with a little more pep to her step despite her exhausting day. "vera!" vasishta called out while she was still a few tail lengths away as to not startle the other wolf. once she was closer she continued, "i heard that there was a bear fight and went to look for you." vasishta gave vera a quick scan before saying, "it seems that you're alright, though."

the wolf wrinkled her snout at the scent of the herbs mixed with the blood before the moved to sit down beside her friend. "i saw what was left of the bear when i tried to find you," vasishta said with a chuckle, scrunching up her snout at the memory of the half-eaten bear carcass she saw in the woods, "do you care to tell the story or should I go first and bore you with my adventures?"
