The AlchemistThe Alchemist's heart rate increased a little as she noted the pause on the other end of the line. She could sense the uncertainty in his voice. "Yes," she answered honestly. She didn't want to reveal the full truth- not now. The guards couldn't hear the phone call so she figured she would be okay for a little bit if she chose her words carefully. She felt the eyes of one of the guards on her back, watching her carefully. She tried to maintain an air of casualness as she held the phone to her ear. "Why do you ask?" She tensed as she heard the guard cocking his gun. Echo was starting to wake up. Slowly, but surely. The Alchemist knew she had to stop delaying. She needed answers, to more questions than one. Otherwise, she had a feeling her lab was about to become a hotspot for the Black Hand. |

JadenThe question took him off guard. He got on the bus, and a little baffled, he looked at the device in his hand, as if he expected to read from it the expression of the person on the other side. "I assumed you would have called someone for help by now. Are you trained in medical aid?" Anxiously, he shifted his wieght from one leg to another. Is this good or bad. As long as there is no law enforcment in sight, the situation could always be worse. Granted, it could also be a lot better but he desperately needed to stay positive right now. He had too much to do to fall into despair right now. "Look, I'm heading there right now. It would be better for the both of us if you allow me to take her to a doctor." He bit his nails as it started to hit him just how much danger Echo could be in right now. She could've just been tired or stressed. Its not out of the ordinary for rebels to suffer from various medical conditions, as a result of the dangerous enviorement, even at her age. It could also be the result of some old injury that wasn't treated properly. There's also a possibility that she has been attacked. Jaden still didn't really know what was happening with her and from the sound of it, neither did the Alchemist. "She's not your problem anyway" As a disembodied voice announced the name of the street they stopped on, he hurried out of the bus and into the direction of the Alchemist's house. He halted before knocking on the door and tried to listen in for any voices. Unable to make anything out from behind the thick wooden framework, he rung the doorbell. |
