Disease: are some good? (Ticks, fleas)

so, I have noticed my wolves getting fleas and ticks often (especially ticks). So far I have been curing them, but the description of both of these seems to say there isn't really any downsides other than 'discomfort' and im not sure what that means mechanically. As far as I am aware, having one disease prevents your wolf from getting another. Is it actually better to leave wolves with these mild diseases to prevent a worse disease? Ticks are not contagious and fleas are. Are fleas actually better if you want your wolves to have them? It would also be great to not have to cure this because tobacco is needed for both and has been hard for me to find.

Please let me know your thoughts and if you have had any negitive effects from fleas or ticks.

as is pretty obvious from clicking on my den page, my pack has what some may consider a bit of an... infestation. it's definitely intentional, though! i've been experimenting this past week with letting my pack contract fleas (especially my hunters) so that i would stop getting open wounds which result in a massive HP loss, and so far i honestly have seen nothing wrong with everyone having fleas. i have 11 total wolves with fleas, some of which have had them for nearly a week at this point, and more are contracting it every day. but on the flip side, i haven't had a single hunter come back with an open wound, which means no HP penalties, so im using less healing potions! i think someone mentioned that wolves with fleas require more amusement items, but to be honest i havent really been paying attention, and either way i get enough toys from exploring that im not too bothered even if thats the case

There's a guide on the effects of disease here. Fleas give a hit to health, and ticks keep you from being able to max out your health. Whether or not you'd want to just keep your wolves having it? I guess that'd be up to you. 

My lead's had diarrhea for a few days. I'm just leaving it to heal on its own, it keeps her from getting worse illnesses and doesn't do much. I left an open wound on my hunter recently until I had to breed her. Seems like the best way to prevent illness is by tolerating illness. xD

if you get a wolf with fleas.. i will give you like 5gc or 500sc for it.. or a couple gc just to borrow it for that reason

Haha wish I didnt cure my fleas now! I wouldnt have if I knew people would pay for it, oh well.

One of my wolves got fleas today, and I’ve definitely been hemming and hawing over whether I should cure them, spread them, or keep them in quarantine. Less open wounds does sound tempting...
