Two Forests (priv rp with Jay)

Location: Coniferous Forest Border- Led By Queen Saraswati

dancing winds rustled the leaves of the coniferous trees as the large pack of wolves carefully walked through the unfamiliar forest. the pack kept a somewhat diamond shape, with their stronger members on the edges and their weaker or less skilled fighters in the middle. at the front leading the pack was a brown colored female with green eyes, queen saraswati, and to her right was her mate varuna. on her left was her daughter, vagdevi, who was carefully watching the swaying shadows. and lagging behind, was the queen's lonesome son, brahmaputra. he kept his head low to the ground, also watching for danger, but kept a small distance between him and the others.

the pack had been traveling for days in search of a better "home" before the mountains froze over again. their scouts had reported a rivarian woodland farther east but warned the pack the journey would be long. to the other wolves who were originally from the coastline, the move was worth it. but the queen's children who'd lived in the mountains all their life, were a bit more hesitant. especially brahmaputra. he disliked the smell of the forest. it had a strange musky, woody scent he wasn't used to.

the pack slowly moved forward, staying relatively silent aside from the occasional whisper between adults or whines from older pups. none of the wolves seemed to have noticed the nearby hunting party except for one wolf on the edge. a strange scent that stood out from the forest's earthiness caught the attention of sarju, causing his head to raise in alert. he stopped walking and turned his head toward the smell, trying to get a better scent. the wolf next to him, suvi, noticed her packmates strange behavior and tilted her head. "what are you doing?" she asked, raising an eyebrow. sarju didn't spare a glance, "i smell something strange."

"we are in the forest, everything smells strange," suvi said while wrinkling her nose. she looked up at the coniferous canopy and then around but she didn't smell or see the other pack. sarju shook his head, "no, it's different. it's other wolves."

the male then hurried his pace, breaking away from his original position to catch up to the wolves leading the pack in the front. "queen saraswati," he called while dipping his head. the lead wolf didn't stop her pace but she turned her head to meet her pack mate. "yes. sarju?"

"i believe we are trespassing on another pack's territory," sarju said in a hushed voice, his gaze darting around the thick lines of trees surrounding them, "i can smell a scent through the trees."

the queen looked around and raised her head to sniff the air, only catching a faint scent. she then turned to another wolf, kaveri, and asked, "i thought you told me you didn't encounter any packs when you scouted the area?"

the brown wolf shook her head, "no but i could've been mistaken.."

queen saraswati opened her mouth to reply to kaveri but quickly turned her head when she heard the bark. once she laid eyes on the wolves emerging from the trees, she raised her head and ears. upon seeing the other wolves, the pack had mixed reactions. some cowered, others stood up straight, and some even bristled their fur.

the queen motioned for her pack to stay behind her and stepped forward, taking on a friendly stance. "ocean's greetings," she greeted with a smile before dipping her head, "i am queen saraswati of the margārīta. are we intruding on your territory?" by the way she spoke, it was clear she was not around her and even more so by the scent of her pack.

the queen followed along with the conversation and maintained a calm friendly attitude throughout, only raising her eyebrows when the aggressive wolf stepped in and was quickly put back into place.

"i see. our apologizes for trespassing," saraswati said earnestly answering, "i wouldn't mind at all, it is the least i could do as we showed up without permission." she glanced back at her back before explaining, "we were merely passing through the area to get to the riparian woodland farther southeast. perhaps i could speak with your leader and discuss a way there without any further disturbance to your pack?"

the margārīta stayed behind the queen, few daring to move. due to brahmaputra being in the back, he couldn't really see much and turned his attention elsewhere. his eyes gazed around the forest, checking to see if there were any other wolves hiding.
