The Black Wolf: Shadow of the Lost Forest

In the heart of an ancient and forgotten forest, there roams a wolf whose fur is as dark as the night itself. Known simply as Nyx, the black wolf is a creature of mystery, her very existence whispered about in nearby villages and among the few who still walk the uncharted paths of the wilderness. Nyx is a shadow that moves with silent grace, her eyes glowing like stars in the darkness. Her origins are as veiled as the twilight hours, and some say she was born from the very essence of the night, a spirit woven into flesh by forces older than time itself.

Long ago, it is said, Nyx was once a wolf of light, a guardian spirit who watched over the balance of nature in her homeland. She was known to guide lost travelers and protect the creatures of the forest from harm. But a great tragedy befell her. A dark curse, born from the envy of an ancient sorcerer, descended upon her. Stripped of her purity, her body was consumed by the curse, turning her fur black as the void. Though her heart remained kind, her appearance and presence became terrifying to the creatures she once protected, and her role as a guardian turned into one of exile. Now, she walks the border between light and shadow, a guardian of the lost and a protector of the unseen.

Nyx is a solitary creature, but she is not without her allies. Among the hidden glades and forgotten caves of the forest, she has built an unspoken alliance with the shadows themselves. Birds of the night, owls and ravens, often accompany her, sharing their wisdom and secrets. Other creatures of the dark—beasts who lurk in the hidden corners of the earth—follow her lead, creating a mysterious network of life that thrives outside the reach of daylight. Nyx has become a protector of this forgotten realm, defending it from those who seek to disrupt its delicate balance, whether it be poachers, hunters, or even those who would disturb the old magics of the forest.

Despite her fearsome appearance, Nyx is a wolf of great intelligence and deep emotional understanding. She can sense the hearts of those who cross her path—whether they seek redemption or destruction. For those who approach her with kindness or respect, she offers guidance. There are tales of lost travelers who, after crossing paths with her, were shown the way back home or even helped in the direst of times. But for those with malice in their hearts, Nyx is a force to be reckoned with. Her silent footsteps can bring terror to the wicked, as she becomes a specter of vengeance, swift and merciless.

Legends of Nyx have spread far beyond the forest, and many who hear her name are torn between fear and awe. Some believe that if one were to truly earn her trust, Nyx would lead them to untold powers hidden within the forest's heart, where forgotten secrets and ancient magic still slumber. Others think she is an omen, a dark force that heralds the end of an era. Whether she is a bringer of salvation or destruction, one thing remains certain: Nyx, the black wolf, remains an indomitable force, forever bound to the shadows of the lost forest, her story written in whispers and the flickering glow of a dying fire.

Kota: The Black Thief

Like all pups, Kota was born into a small, yet flourishing pack. Prey was plentiful and predators were few. Kota spent his youth playing with the pups of the pack, known as the more energetic and kind-hearted sibling. His life was perfect, and he had much to look forward to. Until the day he wondered to far from the pack, and disappeared.

It wasn't until years later, when all memories of him were all but forgotten, only remembered by the rare mention of his sister. On the day Kota had disappeared, three years later, a black wolf appeared in the distance. Seen by several wolves over the next few days, but when trackers where sent out to track his scent and chase the strange wolf from their land, their was no trace of it's scent. And not three days later, did all the pups from the pack disappear, sending the pack into a frenzy of fear and panic.

For months, the pack scoured the land, searching for their lost pups with no hope in sight. Eventually they were forced to give up on the search, and it wasn't until a year later, did they hear rumors of another pack's pups disappearing with no trace, just days after sighting a mysterious black wolf. One of the mother's of the pack, who'd lost her pups juts days after the sighting, set out to investigate the connections between the black wolf and the missing pups.

She was gone for a year, returning to her pack a shell of her former self, having seen and done things beyond imagination. It became known that she had figured out what was happening, but nobody could get her to talk, she'd gone mute. And not days after her return, the black wolf appeared once more, and as usual, the pups disappeared three days later. Desperate, mothers of the lost pups lashed out, trying to force anything out of the female, others leaving in search of their pups and never returning. Yet she refused to speak, only watching the panic of her pack through a hollow gaze.

Years passed, and each year the black wolf appeared, taking the pups of all packs with him before disappearing, despite the packs doing everything they could to prevent him. The black wolf had gained a reputation and a name, The Black Thief, for those who saw him knew it was only a matter of time until they lost of most treasured thing in a pack, their pups. There was no stopping him. And it wasn't until the same mother, the only one who'd left in search of her pups and returned, laid on her deathbed, that she finally spoke. The Black Thief was a wolf she'd spent her puphood with, a wolf she'd trusted and loved beyond words, until he'd disappeared suddenly one day. There was no stopping him, and there was no saving the pups. The Black Thief, was her long lost brother, formally known as Kota, remembered as the pup with the biggest heart, someone who could never hurt a fly. But was now the feared and hated, The Black Thief.
