They continued on, leaving the ravine into a forest, before entering the big meadow. Lush grass grew the thickest here in the mountains.
There were only a hundred head or so, chewing their cud but stopped when they saw the riders. "Strange." Rock mumbled out load, slowing Wiley to a walk.

Wiley did the same, so did Icarus/shock. Grass didn't grow this lush in the mountains except here. Rock dismounted, leaning against one of the few trees next to them. "There's not a lot of cattle here." He observed. "This is their main hangout, and we have thousands of em. Somethings, or someone, has been taking them." He chewed on a piece of grass, thinking.

Rock shook his head. "We'd have to have way to many wolves for that to happen, and we never see them often." He slide to the ground, lighting a cigarette. "Let's rest for a might, then we can scout for tracks."

Shock gave Rock a dirty glint, but kept eating.
