Rory nodded, sitting down. She blinked at the fire for a few moments, crossing her legs.

Rock sat back, smoking his cigarette slowly.

Kirra

Since the first time she met Rock and Rory, failing to gain an answer on whether she'd start work with their ranch, Kirra had turned her eye back towards petty crimes for the time being. Now, with pockets and saddlebags replenished with both supplies and money, she'd thought maybe it's time to have a look around at where she might start work... again. And it seemed she'd once again stumbled upon Rock and Rory.

The campfire almost masked the cigarette but the exhale of smoke revealed just where in the meadow the two were. It was relatively quiet so Kirra wasn't too worried about... disrupting anything.

"Evenin' you two. Don't you worry about guns and weapons, it's only me - Kirra. Met you a bit ago, didn't get a conclusive answer on where I might be working. Ain't it funny I've run across you two again?"

Her lips quirk into a half smile, barely visible before she dismounts Zitkala, slipping the reins over the mare's head and rooting around in her pocket for a peace offering. A small packet of biscuits is procured and she throws them lightly, aiming for Rock. He was clearly in charge so for now, Rory wouldn't get as nice an offering. Not that Kirra mightn't share later... just that Rock seemed to be the one more comfortable and more likely to decide whether she could share the campfire.

Rory watched Kirra, before glancing at Rock. Quite a lot of new recruits, she thought, drumming her fingers on the wood.

Rock had his hand grasped on his rifle as he watched the rider trot in, but kept it in hand, even after the greeting. He gave a suspicious look. "Far ways from the ranch." He said briskly. "Did you follow us or 'happen to come upon us'?" He asked, his cigarette rolling between his fingers.

Sorren

Sorren was also there, sitting on a log smoking a cigarette, her satchel on the ground beside her. She recognized Kirra, though didn't speak, letting out a sigh of smoke. Her eerie blue eyes wavering between Rock and the girl.

Kirra

"Only happen darlin', you ain't important enough just yet for me to be followin' around. Found myself summin to do these past few days and decided it was time to move along. Wasn't expecting friendly faces but I reckon Kala here recognised the smell of some of y'all. She was rather insistent we come along this way."

Another puff of smoke revealed a third person and Kirra touched the brim of her hat in greeting before looking back to Rock.

"I ain't needing anything of what you have, and if I did, you'd be dead already. I came around to your ranch lookin' for work. Would it be so bad to share a fire, maybe a dart or two, and whether I can help with whatever plans you may have?"

Rock studied the rider carefully, pondering on why she had come over to the main cow hangout of Key Brand cattle. He gestured with his left hand, that held the cigarette, to the ground next to the fire. "Light an' set." He said. "We can talk about that."

Kirra

"Thank you kindly."

She dipped her hat towards him a little but rather than sitting right away, she loosened Zitkala's girth and back cinch, letting the mare know she could rest easy... for now, at least. She then unclipped one side of the reins, having made the bridle to allow for such an action rather than having to entirely unbuckle the leather pieces, and sat herself down, mare protecting her back. This allowed Zitkala to graze but also for Kirra to have a decent hold of her... not that she needed it. Even as the others might've noted her actions, she let the reins slip from her hand, laying in her lap rather than being held.

Deft fingers were quick to roll a dart, clearly well-practiced in the act. A lighter flicked on and the rolling paper caught alight easily. A soft inhale and exhale sent the smoke spiralling into the air. She was relaxed enough, but kept her distance. She knew well enough that she wasn't entirely welcome.

"Surely there's something intrestin' happenin'. I've seen y'all around a few times now, I ain't keen on leaving you to find some other ranch... but it's not entirely out of the question, ya know? Ain't nothing I dislike more than a disloyal hand. But it ain't true disloyalty if nothin's been arranged yet."

She tilted her head slightly, letting the words sink in. She was being entirely genuine. They were by no means close but... it would be a shame for her to go to some other ranch, end up taking some unsavoury job, having to... get rid of some of this lot. She could live with a mediocre wage for a potentially foolish idea of kindness.

Rock nodded throwing the butt of his cigarette into the fire, watching it catch into flames, before it was gone Ina second. "Missin' cattle, that's why we're here." He said gruffly. "It's been a problem."
A big gust of wind blew right in Rocks face, sending sparks from the fire all over him. He shuffled back, but only slightly.
