Rock had watched the scene with caution, before adding. "You act like a gunslinger, almost as if hired 'afore." He tried to continue her talking, trying to get to know her more. "Dont rant on that I talk to much either, jest statin' the obvious, no big."

Kirra

"Oh darlin', I ain't one to complain about talking too much. You're damn right I act like a gunslinger anyways - I've spent years getting as good as I can be but I'm only young. I gotta long way to go. Even so, practice makes perfect, and I've done a helluva lot of practice. I'm about as near as perfect for my age as I can be."

Zitkala snorts behind her and that cracks a true grin on Kirra's face.

"Humble too, as you can see. But I deserve it. I ain't originally from this far out. I've worked my way up with horses, cattle, and guns... perhaps guns most of all. I've cut my path and I ain't afraid to keep doing so, not when there ain't much left to lose but my life."

She knew he was prying, whether it was genuine or not she didn't care. Kirra didn't have much to hide, minus the skeletons she'd left along the way. And even then, the ground ain't that hard to dig up. Rain couldn't wash all that sin away.

She wouldn't spill her life story, but that was close enough. True enough as well.

Wren listened now sitting where she had been standing rather then going over. She tended to avoid conversation if possible so she was often off to the side.Fallen sniffed wren for a moment nickering quietly when wren offered her a carrot from her pocket munching it happily.

Rock grinned slightly, although in the bad lighting it was almost invisible. She reminded him of, well, him, although he had learned the hard way about the law of guns.
He rolled up another cigarette, feeling up to it. "I'll hire you, if your downer that a coyote next to cattle. Forty a month is the highest I can do." He offered, bringing the paper tube of tobacco up to his mouth.

Kirra

"Forty is better than thirty. I'll do it."

She leans forward, stretching her lit cigarette out to light his in a show of camaraderie, if there was to be a word for it.

"And for this evening, are we staying the night here, or do we plan on moving on part way through the night? As much as I'd love to keep talkin', I've got my girl to take care of."

Zitkala snorts softly in agreement, almost uncanny in how she knew Kirra was talking about her.

Rocks face lifted. "Ah yes! Almost forgot." He looked at the whole group. "When we went scoutin' for tracks I found some."
He let those words sink in, but only for a moment.

"They were horses, shod hooves aswell. Maybe about five, but it doesn't take more'n that to round up hundreds of heads of cattle."
He took a breath of his cigarette, letting it out slow.

Kelpie

Kelpie stood in the water, his hooves being deep in the water as his tail got soaking wet. He didn't care if any people around, just focusing on the feeling of the water around his legs. He kept his head up, watching out for anything yet soaking up the feeling. He didn't exactly know where he was, but as long as there was bodies of water, he was fine

Icarus ate grass peacefully, occasionally shifting away from the blowing smoke from the group.

Rory nodded slightly. "You did?" She asked, only just having arrived.

Are they close? She wondered.
