Reduced Reliance on RNG (from the perspective of a game maker)

Support! There are a lot of comments that cover better than i ever would how i feel about the current system, and while it sounds like a decently sized overhaul, I just want to put in my 2 cents and say id be very excited if this was planned on the future! |

Oh, Mega support. I lost interest in battling at level like, 8, and the only reason I continue to fight at all is fight quests (which majorly suck thanks to the awful battle RNG) and trying to get to the level where I can see special wolves. |

All around excellent points by the OP. Literally the only way I got my lead to level 15 was by spamming battles with Lucky Foot items. I'm at 17 now, and it's still common to come out of a fight with wolves of less than half my level with less than a quarter of my HP remaining, or even occasionally losing a battle to much lower level opponents. There's only so much strategy actually helps, and I shouldn't need to rely on power-ups to ensure my lead comes out on top when there's a ten-level difference in my wolf's favor. |

support! i can barely defeat a level one enemy half the time, so leveling up is an exhausting kind of slog. |

Level 16 here and a player since the public release, I still find myself being forced to use lucky feet on 10-13lv enemies, because otherwise there is no fairness in battle it seems. Not to mention that even with the slight boost lucky feel give, I always end up losing half of 100% energy and more than half my health. What’s worse is when lucky feet don’t help at all and I bleed during battle and immediately lose! Battling is just not worth it. And it absolutely stinks that it’s the only way to level to even get a “chance” (in quotes because it’s still not guaranteed) at an encounter with a special marked or based wolf. Additionally, after an encounter, the wolf still may not join you if you mess up the first befriend option without immediately knowing the personality you’re dealing with. I love this game and see potential for growth, but as it is now, it’s far too Luck Based to feel like I’m making much progress after months of daily play without crawling through the paywall first to do anything. And don’t even get me stared on how hard EARNING currency is in game... |

I support this! This has been a common problem with me and actually prevents me from doing battles in general because even with lucky feet I have a hard time. I get it, it's to prevent boredom or overpowered plays however if my level 11 wolf is able to get yeeted by a level 1 fox something is wrong. It should be a RARE possibility of that happening, not sliding 50/50 for the fox to win. I don't like losing 30 of my health because of level 1-3 mobs managing to get high attack numbers on me.. I actually don't battle frequently unless quest prompts me to or I'm after an item because of how much RNG will flip a script on you, and I fully agree with the ideas prompted for the changes here. |

Feeling this again with the addition of the foxes and their drops. I'm level 11. I should be eating level one foxes, not getting slaughtered by them. Like, there's a time and place for extremely bizarre edge cases of a low level creature beating a much higher one, like the famous FEAR strategy in Pokémon. A leader wolf going for a nice stroll and meeting a random fox isn't one of them, I think. |

Yeaaahhh seconding that. The one fox I encountered so far was a higher level so I expected it to be harder, but by gods it hit my wolf like it was a bear??? Foxes should not hit like a bear, I think, even at higher levels. They should be tricky but not impossible. |

I support this even though i hardly have issues in fighting since my wolf seems to have blades for teeth XD One would think i could breeze my way up on a luck that good but no. It feels off and the RNG is really bad and WD is Too dependent on RNG it's dumb. I actually don't battle much myself despite my wolf's OP Fangs once she cuts ya and she does it ALOT to an enemy cuz it's ...boring that way and annoying on other levels esp in the hunting area for me. |
