Taiga whines but leave Whisper alone. She still had a fox to scold. She stands up and moves over to Rex, towering over the now cowering fox. "Taiga-" Rex tries to start but flinches back into Velvet as Taiga cuts her off. "You are a idiot. If Whisper wasn't there, you would have died. Did you even know where you were going?! NO, probably not. All you do is "go go go", without thinking of anything else. We are trying to keep you alive and well and all you do is go off and almost die. How many times has one of us had to save you in the past week? Too many damn times! Now you're dragging Whisper into it!" She was usually nice, but once someone was hurt, that was gone
Whisper twitched and pinned her ears against her head, probably to block the current scolding going on below, she was debating between making a run for it and just climbing higher to try and mute taigas voice but hadn't yet decided on that one.
Taiga stares down at Rex before growling and walking off, going to find Cerberus to chat about herbs most likely in order to calm down. Velvet looks between Whisper and Rex, taking a deep breath and speaking quietly, trying to urge Whisper to come down. "She isn't going to be back for a while, Whisper. Most likely for another day." She knew Taiga would take a long walk, maybe with Cerberus and Sweetie, and maybe by herself. But is was definit that she wouldn't be back any time soon
Whisper watched taiga leave, stayed put for maybe 3 minutes to make SURE she was gone, then started slowly climbing down her ears still slightly pinned back and her fur fluffed up which, was adorable, so sage liked to say, sage seemed to find it fun to mess with her, big old annoyance.
Rex cowers against Velvet, falling still against him. Velvet moved to be on top of Rex again, helping her calm down with the pressure. She looks over at Whisper. "You okay? Sorry about Taiga.."
Whisper didn't reply, didn't fully trust her own words, maybe it was that, actually she didn't know, she was confused, glancing at velvet, then down at what she could see of Rex. Great question.. was she okay? she hadn't a clue.
Velvet sighs. She wanted to go and comfort Whisper, though Rex would probably cry and whine about it. "It's okay if you don't know. Did you want to join the small cuddle pile?" She made sure to be quiet, not wanting to startle Whisper and stress her out more
cuddle? what the heck is a cuddle pile? she thought her wariness swapping to just confusion, her head tilting to the side. like smothering others? THAT makes sense yes, why not just call it that then?
When Velvet didn't get an answer, he asks again. "Did you want to join? You don't have to if you don't want to." He pauses, feeling Rex squirm as she tried to curl up under him, head ducked under his own.
