Getting attached to our wolves

Is anyone else concerned about being emotionally affected by losing a favorite wolf that you raised from birth, played with for months, and then having them die?

I allready know I will be. Probably will stop playing for a few days at a time whenever that happens. Its by far the most upsetting feature of the game. But I knew what I was getting into. And Wolvden isn't an escapism game.

It's why I'm trying not to approach WD from a roleplaying standpoint; I know I can't play this game with the goal of collecting a gallery of wolves and giving them all lore and personalities like I do with, say, my dragons on FR.

That said, I can't help but be attached to my scout Loki. I didn't breed him myself but he's still the MVP of my pack right now and he doesn't have a whole lot of time left... if I choose to make any one of my newbie wolves immortal, it'll be him.

When I started playing on the sister website Lioden I really thought I wasn't going to get attached at all. Like it was just a fun game to try and collect cool animals. But I guess I can't escape it since even on Wolvden I'm already super attached to a few members of my pack :c

You only lose your wolves if you think you lose them. Yes, you can't use them on site anymore, and not everyone is going to fit on your dynasty. But save their images and other stuff on eg. word document, discord or so on. Use dead wolves on your lore and rp to keep up their legacy!

It’s part of the reason I decided to play the game as an extended family legacy. I think I’ll be okay with wolves dying of old age, but if I lose any pups it’s going to wreck me.

This is the real reason a lot of my wolves have silly names
