Shay looked at the crib, looking at her beautiful baby boy. She had adopted him not to long ago, brought him to her home. Shay looked at his face, thought ofhow peaceful he looked. She knew she wanted to bring him home just from how he hadn't cried when she walked in, when the lady had mentioned that he cried whenever he saw anyone. Shay had felt the love of a mother from the moment she held him in her arms, rocked him, and brought him home. The days already seemed so much brighter with him in her life, even if there was the occasional hiccup, as their always is. It always evened out. She was excited to see how he grew up, how he interacted with her when he was older, everything that came with growing up. She hoped they could be close the whole while, she hoped she could teach him what he needed to be taught, or wanted to be taught. She hoped she could be a good mother to him for his whole life. She would remember to tell him that she wasn't his real mother, remind him he could call her anything and she would be there. She may not be his real mother- But she would be there when he needed or wanted, she would be there during the twists and turns. She would be there, until she drew her final breath.
