Lynx and nova paw had stayed off to the side of *camp*, keeping out of the way. Nova paw was trying to spot her parents, though for some reason, they didn't seem to be in *camp*, maybe they were just hunting? Lynx looked uncomfortable as heck, shifting repeatedly where she sat, their eyes scanning the clearing with caution.

He gathered himself and joined his clanmates. He perked his ears, his heart heavy as he watched Hickorystar. His throat felt like it was caving in. He didn't know how he did it. How he stood tall and strong while everything seemed to just be against him. He had a whole clan on his back and it didn't even look like it sometimes.

Autumn slipped closer to Hickorystar. Her eyes were full of grief, but she pricked her ears and curled her tail. Lakewing shouldn't have been outside of camp... She should have been safe. All Autumnfur could think about was the sadness of the event, but as Hickorystar called the meeting, she pushed those thoughts back. Just a bit.

The large tom stood up from his place by the warriors den, his tail low to the ground as he padded over to join the meeting before looking up at Hickorystar with grief filled eyes.

"Alpineclan has had a rough year," I meowed, head low but voice strong. " We lost our home and our family to the fire. Leaving us traveling for moons to find a new home, losing several more on the way. We've finally found a home, a place to call our own. To raise our kits, train our apprentices, to fight for, to grow old on, and to die on. And for that, I thank Starclan for honoring our prayers." I paused, chest aching as I forced out the next words. " You all known my mate, Lakewing, was pregnant with my kits. She went for a walk and went into labor, she had to give birth, alone, with no help. And I'm sad to say, she passed away, taking with her one of my kits." I swallowed back tears, voice cracking. " I thank the Stars one of my kits survived in the end, and I now welcome my son, Lakekit, into the Clan. We must also welcome Novapaw and Lynx back into Alpineclan, she was lost as a kit and I'm pleased to see she's returned, bringing with her a friend. For now, these two are welcome here as vistors, I will be discussing the possibilities of rejoining the Clan if they so wish."
