Sub-Roles in Hunting Parties

Sub-Roles in Hunting Parties

Hey devs!

So Ive been thinking of this all day that it would be awesome if we could assign each hunter their own role when editing the hunting party. Such as setting one wolf to: Stalker, Chaser, or Finisher. When you set the role it will automatically put the wolf into that role instead of the game choosing where to put them. Ive been thinking about this bc it prioritizes experience over stats but if you have a hunting party where you later add another wolf to and want that wolf to instead take over that role you have to manually put that wolf to that role and sometimes I forget to do it, so I would love it to be able to be set from Hunting Party Edit so the wolf I want in each role is always assigned to that role. With the chasers the game can still prioritize which chaser is the lead chaser by a combination of stats and experience.

Thanks for your time

Yeah, eventually they build up the right proficiency so they get auto-assigned anyway, but early on it's tedious to have to keep putting them into the right roles by hand.

Support! I had to manually use the Subtitle to name my wolves when first setting them up.

Yes, this would be great. It would make it a lot easier when moving wolves into teams and creating them. Even with setting them up on hunts.

Partial support! I agree that assigning wolves to their correct roles is annoying but, instead of adding yet more role options and clicks, I'd rather have the game remember the last configuration of the hunting party. That way you'd only have to set the roles once and they could be changed directly from the hunting page.

Support! In additions, I'd like to see apprentice's future roles be able to be set and locked in place. (ie: lock an apprentice as an herbalist apprentice)

Support! I suggested this a few days ago, not realizing that this thread already existed. Here's something I made to suggest what it could look like! The hunting party editor on desktop  even already has a convenient space for it

I made a similar post on this topic, which also had some very good comments and suggestions on it: link

I also heavily support this. It is so difficult to switch in a new wolf when an old hunter retires or dies.

For a specific example, my 100% Finisher with 63% chasing proficiency from before I made her a finisher jumped into the first chasing slot when I put a new chaser on the team. This new chaser had 20% chasing proficiency from her apprentice days and 0% finisher proficiency... yet the game auto-loads her into the finisher slot because the finisher had 43% more chasing proficiency than her... even though she also had 100% more finishing proficiency originally.

I am going to have to manually switch these two for at least 57 hunts (10 per day, lose 1 proficiency each night, takes 6 days if max playing) and that's only if I don't accidentally click to send them out in the wrong positions which I have already done at least twice.

Simply giving any option to lock positions or remember how the party was last assigned would solve this issue.
