I've mostly been farming SC using "singleplayer" methods; doing quests, exploring, selling to the raccoon, etc., but I was curious because I keep seeing mentions of people being able to get a major amount of profit breeding wolves. All my attempts to breed wolves and sell on the trade market have ended in me chasing them, so I was curious: Am I missing something? Is it just a supply/demand market where people buy wolves that look nice? I never got involved with anything like on any other sites I've been on, so that would be a bit hard for me to get started, but I'm curious because I've also seen people refer to wolves as "fodder" wolves and I'm not sure what that means. Sorry for the long-winded post, I'm just so curious and also not very good at this game LOL |

A lot of times people breed with your wolf if you have a tier 2 or higher base or marking or they just look cool in general. You can see in the sales chat what wolves are prefered in this game by looking at any advertised studs and seeing how many slots they have left or how much they charge. Fodder is basically wolves that aren't worth much at all and you just want to get rid of them asap bc of low stats, no markings, no good markings, etc so you sell them for abt 20sc or so |

I'm not an expert on this topic, as I haven't gotten much into the breeding aspect much yet but from what I know: 1. Breed-only bases and markings |

Oh yeah as Biro said, fodder is usually just undesirable wolves (ugly, no or few marks, bad stats). Right now they're just meant to be cheap wolves for newer players to get, but I'm sure as a karma system is in place, they'll be fodder for making your wolf have better or worse karma |

I've been paying to breed my females to nice studs (not very expensive ones, but tier II bases with merle or other rare markings) and, well, most of the puppies don't sell, but enough of them do that it's worth it. XD Pups are always a bit of a gamble, but ones with a tier II base or particularly good markings will sell. And one of my upcoming litters should have high stats, so I'm looking forward to seeing how that goes with sales! |
