Chased Wolf Spotting!!!

Posted 2021-07-31 12:50:15 (edited)
The thing that's weirdest to me is how T3s work when it comes to chasing. Like, my RNG's pretty iffy in general, and I've found maybe 2 wolves that were decent. (Both merles of course.) They're the best I've ever had, and yet there are some players who have found not just 1 T3, but multiple. It makes it seem like they're raining from the sky in those cases, and that's awesome for those players, but what about the rest of us who search through hundreds of befriend encounters?

I imagine the nice chased wolves have sentience and are just really particular, it makes the situation more entertaining. My lead's plain and uninteresting, so while he's wandering around in explore, the wolves like to hide behind trees and duck under boulders. Do everything in their power to avoid him until he goes away. It's not that I have bad luck, it's that those prissy wolves don't want anything to do with my lead's sorry ass lmfao.

If it helps any, I find absurd amounts of NBW encounters in the prairie, so that theory about a lack of encounter options may be true! Most are regular NBWs, of course, but I average 2 or 3 NBW encounters per full bar of energy.

I've always been envious of people's luck regardless. How some people have their den FULL of T3s and albinos and melanistic wolves and I'm only able to get 2 T3s and both potato Serpentines, one of which I chased because she wasn't being bought, even though I spent MONTHS trying to get another T3 and still have no luck. I breed T3s with my T2s and specific combos to get the T3s I want and still nothing

for NBW finding stats and comparison between regular, starred or chased rates, there is a thread where you can write down how many you encountered per level

My lead is my first wolf - I have yet to replace him; he's a pretty boring standard looking wolf (I tried to go very natural looking) - I have just found my second T3 chased in as many days…I have literally seen multiple chased this last week (I explore to feed as I'm terrible at hoarding wolves) - most were rechased NBWs - but one was a gorgeous hetero with Selene ornate spots (was sure he was T2) and I'm devastated that I failed with all but 1 green arrow. I'd rather not find them as I'm terrible at hoarding them and they are so valuable I really should sell them :/ I really don't get why I keep seeing so many - is it because I never have space to taunt me?! XD it's getting to the point that I'm tempted to just ignore befriend encounters to avoid having to take them home lol RNG is so cruel - I really wish I could bottle up my luck and give it away to you guys who don't see any chased <3

This one WILL be on the TC when cool down ends - I can't keep them all..I think

If it's a den full of NBW T3s, I honestly don't know how they do it. I don't sell wolves anymore, I gave up on that a while ago. Unless you're already VERY established and can reliably send out G2/G3 T3s/specials with good markings, it's near-impossible to get anywhere unless you sell so cheap that it wasn't worth it in the first place. And if they're inbred even a little bit - probably won't sell at all. 99.9% of the playerbase can't stand that anymore from what I've seen, which is feeding into why G1s are so coveted now.

The only reason I bought so many T3s and breed them like crazy is just to throw them into the chased pool. There's no profit whatsoever in it, I just wasted a couple hundred GC getting them for... I don't know, something to do I guess, lol.

Maybe that's just my pessimism talking, but it really feels like the market's so broken, barely anything's valuable anymore.

I feel the same way! My den looks a lot different now but it used to be at least half inbred t3s that I sunk my gc into to breed for r&c. It's rewarding in its own way but the way the market has been has ruined my mood about the game as a whole sometimes and I'm not sure how to fix it at this point

@Saeginko - I've played a similar game with dragons and that economy felt exactly the same; decors and familiars have more value. It's depressing - the vast majority of my den is made up of T1 and T2 doggos that I love the look of - they aren't worth anything really; I don't even breed them because I wouldn't be able to sell their pups as no one but the bear would want them and I find it hard chasing pixels lol…I haven't been on wolvden long but I'm starting to wonder what the purpose is? It takes a lot of effort to keep a large pack fed and happy - and other than me admiring them everyday they are just costing me time and effort :/ my first pack members have just started dying of old age - I feel like I've completed all I wanted to already…now what? And yeah the economy contributes to this as it's not worth buying, breeding or trading doggos unless they are chased xD we need more incentives to chase - I really admire all of you who raise and chase regularly - that's a lot of food and amusement for no real reward but making someone else smile - thank you ♥️

P.S - if anyone who raises and chases ever needs food or amusement please dm me - I don't have the space to take on pups but I often have left over food or toys - I'd love to help contribute to the community somehow :D

I would buy any T3 that I can afford. I saw a T3 fox for 5GC and I was tempted to buy it since it was pretty but I saw the lineage and I was too horrified by the lineage being not only dirty but LONG. I feel as though maybe I shouldn't have such high standards for lineage in pretty wolves, especially T3s, because I know lines won't stay short forever but I'm not sure if the market cares for short lineages or care for bases and looks instead.

@Kaz @Zafarley

I'm right where you guys are at. I'm okay for now, but when the wolves I spent so much GC on and came to care for die off and ultimately have nothing to show for it... It won't feel like there's any other goal to aim for. The market's way too broken for me to consider going back to it. Like yeah, R&Cing is satisfying right now, but I can tell I'm going to get tired of it eventually. I don't have the heart or energy to once again grind for weeks to get GC/SC, buy another round of inbred T3s, get each to 10 markings, hope that I get any T3s from the 200+ SC breedings, raise them to adulthood and potentially wipe them from the game, and repeat the whole process just to have to do it all over again once THOSE ones die. So yeah, like, now what? It's exhausting and just... idk. Sucks, man.

@Trolljan

Short Lineage >>>>>>> Base/Looks

I mean, you just said yourself, you were horrified by the long lineage. It doesn't really matter to most players how gorgeous a wolf is, if their great-great-great-great-great grandfathers have the same dad, people will look the other way. Not saying every time, but ... most of the time, unfortunately.
