Chased Wolf Spotting!!!

Posted 2021-07-31 13:49:17 (edited)
I feel like my desire for a short lineage is because I want to ultimately sell the pups to earn some sort of profit and I know FOR A FACT that a long lineage and a dirty lineage won't have them sold and it's frustrating. This game annoys me a lot with RNG, the horrible SC earn:buy rate, the bs battle system where level 19 leads lose to level 2 owls, and a broken market.

edit: I do enjoy this game. but sometimes it's made to not be that fun

@Trolljan - I totally agree with the battle system - my level 16 lead got beaten up by a level 3 badger today xD it literally 3 shotted me lol

That's a good point Trolljan, I think a big part of where the huge wave of people wanting short lines is from is because there was a decent portion of the userbase who didn't like inbreeding or long lines, so more people ended up wanting short lineage so their wolves would sell, and it's become a cycle. That's certainly why I started going for lower lineage, I used to not care about inbreeding at all.

Not that I'm bashing people for wanting short or non inbred lineage! It does make for a fun challenge

the market is absolutely terrible right now. i chased a G4 opal rather than being able to sell her alongside her 2 teardrop pups. ultimately the trade had been up for a day and didn't have a single watcher or offer and i continually bumped it. i honestly would have accepted a little bit of food for them. it's crazy - two months ago, they would have been getting a lot of offers. but now it's like tier threes beyond gen 2 have no worth

Gotta agree too with a lot of that Trolljan. I didn't care about distant inbreeding or buying inbred wolves back in the day, but as soon as I considered profit... It ruined my viewpoint. :/

And I avoid battling like it's the plague until the event comes along, and then it's time to suffer through unfair fights that don't make sense. XD

Lvl. 17 vs. Lvl. 2 Bird
Bird moves first, hits and immediately bleeds!
You rest, but it fails and your HP goes down by 1/4!

Excuse you, RNG, but what even is this.

@Zafarley Oh my god XD RIP your lead. It's mostly frustrating during the Lunar Event when I'm trying to get the LT but getting defeated easily by a low level enemy and seeing my wolf's hp go all the way down is such a waste of healing salves lmao

edit: the only battle in normal explore not in the Lunar Event is fighting foxes in loot level range because ever since the fox base was announced I worked so hard into fighting the right levelled foxes and canines to get the loot and I'm still not able to craft the base when others at the time already crafted the base and began to use it in their studs ALREADY. When the sentinel pose was announced with a crafting recipe, people got it already and crafted it already SOMEHOW and I have been rescouting my wolves this entire time since then and I still don't get it. RNG in this game is so imbalanced

I find it completely okay if players prefer shorter lineages to longer ones, or non-inbred to inbred.

I just wish it didn't mean that everything that didn't fit those two categories weren't one step above worthless. :(

Yeah exactly! I feel like the Wolvden userbase needs some kind of perception shift on the value of inbred or longer lined wolves

Yeah, I've only been on a month or so and I started out not even looking at linage, just buying pretty wolves, but then I picked up on the short/no inbred desire and, well, got to make that money somehow. :I The market won't sustain itself on that though, unless there's a huge influx of chased T3's and they just carousel around in a circle of people selling NBWs, breeding a few gens, and rechasing. I'll admit I'm jaded and for-profit on most of my wolves now, a bad habit picked up in the pound surfing Neo days. I got a handful that are long lined that are my favorite for their looks, but I likely won't breed them because their pups won't sell and I can't keep them all.

Also, when I freshly turned level 10 I immediately found a T3, since then it's been downhill and I think the system does that to get your hopes up. xD

Edit: @Trolljan (or anyone) what's the verdict with Fox trophy drops, is it above level 5 in general or 5 levels around your lead? I've heard both and can't get a solid answer, of course the few drops I've got I go into a blind frothing greed mode and never pay attention to the fox's level.

It used to be 5 levels around your lead but now the chance is just increased with your lead's level and the enemy has to be lvl 5 or over, there was a development update a month or two ago
