Chased Wolf Spotting!!!

From what i've personally seen, like half the Zircons onsite are related to my stud, Echostar, i feel proud yet somewhat sad.

@Zeraki  Understandable! I prefer short, clean lines, but that might just be the salesman in me talking, considering what's been selling best lol. I understand the squick factor with thinking of inbreeding, and fictional wolves =/= irl domestic animal breeding.

Honestly, I'd probably pick an inbred/linebred small named wolf from a private line over a big named wolf, but I think my brain just gets tired of seeing the same stud name after a few dozen times. xD

@Salem this is the reason I started focusing on r/c piasa pups. Because it was almost impossible to find one that wasnt Pita's, which made getting a clean line almost impossible

Hi, Wolf!  Nice to see you 'round ^_^  I can see how that would elicit mixed feelings.  Especially if you want to continue with someone not related.  Quite the challenge!

I don't even know that I need lines to be short, but I like wolves that have been worked.   Show me them mooscles!
To me the bottom line generally becomes: if the line is longer, how stronk are you, and do you have potential to help me meet my goals (IE Denim is more likely to help than Sulphur for more blue woofers)?

somewhat unrelated but it also feels like people forget to RC for clean lines with *certain* t3 bases, for example. fox lineages have been scrubbed clean almost mercilessly. But you barely ever see: chased zircons, iridiums/slates, piasas (I think like half the site always forgets this base even exists), teardrops, and grullas. So their lineages are super long / sometimes inbred and the few g1s there are are priced a fortune and a half to stud. I think this phenomenon in particular shows something important: almost everyone wants an NBW t3 but in the case of rarer bases like these, barely anyone wants to put in effort to breed and RC them

Unless they're foxes. There's like a million of those

Edit: Destiny I tried to do the same thing,,, but I could never find a piasa for sale that wasn't like a million wolfdollars, even if they were IB

As someone who adores and breeds Foxes (yes, I know their value sucks, I don't care) if I see Faelor/Orion/can't remember the exact name but something "Fire" one more time I'm gonna throw a brick. No hate to their owners, but man did they get around.

Edit: Yeah, agreed. Prayer circle for Grulla and Piasa, I'd really like to breed a few of those but the gene pool is a puddle. ;;

I have a NBW teardrop stud - some teardrops I breed (ones with longer-ish lineages) are raised to chase so hopefully I can help get more out there!

Yesssss I coughed up more then a few stud fees to get my piasa stud ! Now I'm doing my best to get as many into the chase pool as I can. Hopefully one comes back to me someday!

I feel like someone did that for Slate at least a little as before I customized my girl, I could tell somewhere around there, she was related to Hollow.  I think someone else picked up another Slate with Dark Brown Smudge Heavy, but can't speak well for most the others.

It do be making me wonder if I should try to breed my Swan to a Slate for R&C purposes.  I do lore tho' so I must work that out (she's on a busy hunting team too).

Definitely would like some clean Teardrops added to the mix, I've bought a few low gen recently because I'm a sucker for them with event markings. That pink/yellow/blue pastel swirl...

I've actually been seeing Teardrops making a tiny move in the right direction genetics-wise, so I'm hopeful! Thought about making my next stud a Teardrop. ;;
