Chased Wolf Spotting!!!

Posted 2022-08-07 19:36:32
I'd definitely move to a new thread. I think formalizing the general, informal, rules we've been following here would be a good idea! such as (just throwing some ideas out there):
1. Keep chatter to the chat thread, though quick congratulations & questions are okay
2. If a wolf is for trade, the finder can say so in their post but it's inappropriate to ask in the main thread
3. asking for price checks is okay, maybe even keeping the replies to them in the main thread so we can stop people from taking advantage of newbies?
4. something about proof of chase rules, to make better guides for people

again just some ideas - it'll obviously be up to whoever decides to take on the responsibility of hosting!

I think they meant what Snowcat was referring too. Sending offer for wolves that are under market value. Really, the best thing to do if you find a T3 is post it up for offers, if you're unsure of the value. That way people can offer, and others can top the offer. And you get the most fair value.

Or if you're on Wolvden Kingdom server, ask for a price check. People always offer fair pricing advice there :)

@Prague & @Slothie thank you for clearing that up for me. I wasn't sure if you/they were referring to what was on 1477 or not. I also think the rules that @Ghost mentioned is a good backbone to base the new thread off of. But that's also just my personal opinion.

I think there's no way to fairly enforce Proof of Chase TBH. Rechases look just like regular wolves and new members won't know they aren't R&C'es. So they might be unfairly reprimanded if they post a rechase since people may be suspicious.

Also not every user has the ability to screenshot/post wolves when they found them. Or they might forget due to excitement/ADHD/plethora of reasons.

The rare posted unchased wolf probably isn't hurting anyone compared to the problems it could cause.

Edit: Forgot to mention that the additional work involved would also probably eventually cause any new thread with this rule to eventually die out.

Oh no sorry for any confusion @Slothie! By proof of chase, I meant proof that You chased a wolf. If someone has a policy that they always return chased wolves back to their chasers, people can take advantage of that and score T3s for cheap even if they didn't chase them. So some way to formalize that you did indeed chase it would be helpful to avoid scams!

OH okay haha. Yeah I support that. Definitely don't give a wolf away for free unless they have proof.

(Sorry I thought you meant we needed proof it was in fact a chased. My bad!)

I feel like having ss of the wolf (with your user included), the wolves markings/stats/gender/etc., and the lineage(optional). But that may be a bit biased since that's what I do. I just know that, that method has worked pretty well. Feel free to add or remove some things as well! Just trying to throw some ideas around to help everyone :)

@ Shadowed, on 1477 Ravenstar linked to a new chased thread that they had started !
Obviously though nothing has been decided yet, and I don't know if that will be confirmed as the new place to go
