hhhhey i'm new and dumb

1. a lot of new players fall into that trap, including myself! i traded off like 15 or more lucky feet in my first few levels and came to regret it when i leveled up some and realized how borderline necessary they are for later leveling. SO the way lucky feet work is that, from what i understand, all they really do is increase the odds of you landing a latch, which allows you to get damage out on an enemy without them being able to hit you back (i think it also takes less energy than biting?). at low levels this isn't super important bc you can level at a reasonable speed just fighting enemies around your level and spamming bite. BUT at higher levels you have to start fighting really high level enemies to make a dent on your XP bar (once you hit something like lvl 12 or 13 you only get about 3% xp from killing a lvl 20) AND you have to fight a lot more, so lucky feet are super, super helpful in that they save you energy AND allow you to kill enemies significantly higher level than yourself more of the time.

tldr: save lucky feet for when leveling gets painfully slow, and use them on high level enemies so that you can latch onto them and kill them that way.

also note that there's a chance to get a stat when you defeat an enemy within 4 levels of your lead, so it's not necessarily the best idea to ONLY fight lvl 20s even if they give the most xp.

2. when a carcass has 1 day left, you can click on it in your hoard and next to the "bury" button there will be a salvage button!

note: you'll be able to see when carcasses are rotting really easily if you check your hoard (you can put the food filter on to make it even easier) - the rotting ones will glow red!
