Scrying Stone bloodline checker

I support! I think this is a great idea! I personally prefer to avoid inbreeding, but that's going to get harder and harder as popular studs become everyone's third cousin.

I think, however, there should be some big disclaimer when scrying that inbreeding does not effect gameplay, mutation chance, stats, ext. I can see new players getting confused if their is a scry option, since it's then a logical to conclude inbreeding wolves will cause issues.

This would be very useful for those who avoid inbreeding. Support!

I agree with Keycatt however that there should be made clear on the same page that inbreeding has no negative effect in the game.

Support! Checking lineages manually is kinda tedious and it'll only get worse the longer the game exists.

massive support!

I personally have been avoiding inbreeding very heavily and find it extremely tedious to have to scour through the lineage of my wolves to make sure they're clean.

Not to mention, if someone accidentally inbreeds a wolf it can be upsetting to find out at best or potentially be a genuine trigger for some at worst, which... A game that's light-hearted and made to be played for fun should NOT be triggering to its players.
That being said, I do think that Keycatt has a point in giving that disclaimer as not to confuse players on the mechanic.

Support! Would love to have one that scries for LB lineage or lineage of wolves who have sired/birthed over a certain # of pups as well, but not sure how easy that would be to code.

Big support! I personally want my packs to have no instances of inbreeding--if I could have some sort of button that at least tells me "John Doe appears once/twice/thrice etc in Jane Doe's family line" would work well enough for me--I don't need to know the exact relation. I had revisited LD on and off recently, and seeing just how far back family trees goes makes me dread searching for inbreeding instances on Wolvden in the far future.

This would be extremely helpful. I don't care much for clean lines for my wolves for the most part but when I do make an effort I will say it gets confusing. Especially when wolves can have similar names and such, so having to double check each profile itself for some wolves can be a bit tedious.

A warning that inbreeding doesn't harm your wolves would also be a good reminder on such a feature.

I wouldn't mind this feature for several generations back but at some point I think it becomes a moot point. If we're talking 15 generations back, in real life that would not be any kind of genuine issue so I'm not sure why it would bother people here.

Now, if you want to check for specific lines that could maybe be something separate. An inbreeding tool to check, I dunno, 8 or 10 generations back or whatever. And an additional tool that lets you input two wolf IDs, to see if the second ID is anywhere in the bloodline (for people that need to check for popular studs etc).

I know that players who inbreed are already having a tough time selling their puppies even though there is no in-game mechanical reason not to so while I understand lots of people would find this useful, we're going to hit a point where it becomes insane after wolves are in the double digit generations.
