The final sacrifice(open

Cardon layed back down looking a the outside surroundings and  gave a deep roar. he was alone again, but didnt care. He had a job to do and that was to stay beside Feng and her kids, til they were no longer needed.

Jewel woke up when she heard the roar from cardon and did not know why he sounded so sad

Cardons life was a mess and it was because of him. He tried to stop bad people from hurting the ones he loved most, but never got there in time. He would never forget those days, til the day he died. 

"cardon." Jewel whispered 

"what is it, little one?" he asked looking at Jewel

Jewel could tell that Cardon was grievingand she was going to help him

"Why are you so sad?" She asked nuzzling him

Cardon sighed " Jewel, dont worry about me.. ill be fine" he said looking back at the sky . He closed his eyes and pictured being with Shasta again. But knew she would never come back

"I can tell that you are sad." Jewel said

" I am.. I just.. " he paused and sighed " wish I could have stopped them from killing her" he said looking away
