The current maximum is 5 wolves per hunting group, but I would like for the limit to be higher - maybe up to 8 total wolves. You can still only use 5 at a time to hunt, but it allows more leeway for variable group composition and allows "backup" wolves for if some wolves aren't able to hunt (ex. are nested). There are also more lore opportunities with larger group sizes, for people who like to play with wolf character interactions. |

I support! I was planning to make my hunting parties 6-7 wolves in size once I got enough wolves, because it's frustrating to limp along with a 3-4 wolf party if some of them are nesting or sick. Plus, you could train new wolves more efficiently by putting 1 or 2 in a group of experienced hunters rather than making a whole 2nd party of newbies. Needless to say I was disappointed when I realized there was a 5 wolf limit. Seems like an oversight tbh - it kinda just serves to restrict the ways we strategize |

A limit for hunting party makes sense when you think about the synergy. How would the synergy raise if there is always at least one wolf standing on the sidelines? Five wolves are also just a perfect amount of wolves for a hunting party, as each wolf adds up to 20% synergy for the total of 100%. If the limit was 6 wolves, then each would add 16.6666667% towards synergy and with 7 wolves it would be 14.2857143% per wolf. And that just... doesn't make sense. Yes, perhaps only the five active wolves would affect the synergy and the ones who are idling around don't affect it. But that just sounds kind of a big mess to handle and code. |
