The Moontouched

Hidden in the mountains where the earth touches the clouds lies a mysterious pack of wolves. They are known mostly through rumors, tales of strange wolves who can perform mystical feats. It is said the Moon herself gives them gifts of strength, luck, and even foresight. They are the Moontouched.

 

The Code: Through following the code the Moontouched's Code the pack is given their powers from the Moon.      Marble: The creator of the pack. She came from the lands east and brought with her the way of the Moontouched. The power of the Moontouched is directly linked with the Moon. Their abilities are at their peak under a Full Moon, and fate seems to move everything in their favor with the amount of luck they have at this time. Wolves gifted with strength can easily fight off a giant bear alone under a Full Moon, while those gifted with foresight have powers so strong they can map out the following months or even bear the strong ability of mind reading. On the flipside, these powers and luck are completely absent under a New Moon. They are just normal wolves then, worse off even if the wolf is overly dependent on the Moon's power.

The Code

Praise the Moon 

 

The Moon gives the Moontouched strength, blesses them with her boons, and rolls the odds in their favor. Those in the pack are her chosen ones, and her generosity must not be forgotten. Thank the Moon for all she gives you. 

 

Reject the Sun 

 

Act in the day if you must, but the Moontouched must live in the Moon's light. To do otherwise would be to reject her and all her gifts. 

 

Do Not Exploit Your Gifts 

 

It is an honorable blessing to bear one of the Moon's gifts. To misuse them and twist them to do selfish and wicked deeds is punishable by death. 

 

Show Respect Not Weakness 

 

Though the Moontouched are her chosen the Moon watches over all. Treat the world and it's creatures with respect. However, do not bow to kind prey when you are weak with hunger.  

 

Obey the Moon's Chosen Voice 

 

The Moon will not speak directly to her children, thus it is up to the Leader to act as her voice. The Moon shows her approval of each officially appointed Leader and, until she shows otherwise, has the highest authority. Going against your Leader is almost as heinous as going against the Moon herself.

Leaders

Marble is the founder of The Moontouched and introduced their ways into this land. Strong, dedicated, and equipped with a silver tongue she had no problem convincing wolves to join her and follow the code. Her Moontouched gift is foresight, which helped convince many wolves that what she spoke of was true. Marble's past and how she learned of the Moontouched powers is a mystery to all, but as long as she takes care of the pack no one cares to ask questions.

Herbalists

Sage is the first Herbalist, one chosen only out of necessity. According to Marble, Herbalists were one of the closest to the Moon, but Sage couldn't be farther away from her. He is the oldest wolf, and joined the pack in order to put his healing skills to use. Sage followed Marble's rules, but found the idea of the Moontouched to be pure superstition. The longer he stayed with the pack, the further he sunk into denial. At present he swears Marble is some demon, but is too cowardly to strike out now.

Other Relevant Wolves

Ebony was the first wolf to join Marble. The two warmed up to each other quickly, and Ebony had no problem adapting to the code. They felt the effects of the Moon's gifts not long after following Marble, but Ebony didn't care about being stronger or faster. They cared about Marble and being by her side. It was no secret the two loved each other. They took their relationship slowly, but it was destined for them to become mates.

Year 1

Marble took her first steps into the new world, leaving the strange lands west behind her. Guided by Tala she settled high in the mountains, as close to her beloved Moon as she could comfortably be. Tala introduced her to Ebony, a sweet young wolf starstruck the moment they met her. This was the start of The Moontouched.


Marble came across Sage at Herbert's Tree, he was a few years older and already trained in some Herbalist practices. Sage scoffed at Marble's talk of being Moontouched, but agreed to join her anyway. He wasn't about to let some delusional wolves get themselves killed by illness because they believed they had superpowers. Marble didn't mind Sage's skepticism, but he butted heads with Ebony immediately after he tried striking up conversation about how ridiculous the idea of moon powers seemed.

Silverwind joined the pack as an adolescent not much younger than Marble, found by her while exploring. He was quickly taken under Marble's wing and taught her ways. While Marble taught him about the Moontouched, Ebony trained him in hunting. Silverwind was already an excitable pup, but only grew more enthusiastic after he received his first prophetic dream. Marble was proud to see he was given the gift of sight.

Mist stumbled upon Marble around the same time Silverwind joined. Carrying puppies she was desperate to have shelter and eagerly accepted Marble's offer to join. WIP
