I got a bunch of NBWs from completing the tutorial quests, and I'm like "well, it would be mean to kick them out"

I'm too sentimental lmao

😂 Sammee! Poor Yellowjacket of mine has been put up in the trading center by me three times, and then I'm just like, "wait, no!!!"

I love that dude. Pretty sure he was someone's tutorial puppy. His sister looks very alike him, but she's in a different pack

Yeah. Honestly, the fact that he even *has* a family tree probably goes to show that he was born in someone's pack and not just generated by the computer like every single NBW I've met so far. I've been trying to not encounter more though, since I definitely want to keep my puppies and I'll probably try to have more puppies when my ladies go into heat. But I also know that it's probably not a good idea to fill up too much with related wolves, since I'll want to continue for some generations and I want to avoid inbreeding as much as I can.

And I'm looking at your wolves and they're all so beautiful!

Well, Yellowjacket was one of the puppers I bought back in EA. You could see his former pack list on the right top corner of his page! For awhile, you'll just be encountering lame-o computer generated NBWs, but by level 10, you should be seeing your first chased pretty quick! They'd be recognizable by a shooting star symbol with the rarity of 6! Their heritage would be wiped, but they were chased from some player's pack, hence the name. ^^ You'd prob run into plenty basic NBW chased tho, since there's currently no way to delete them without chasing them and hope they didn't land the chased pool

Just try avoiding that pretty green button! Yeah, I try to avoid that too. It sucks that you could only have one breeding male and pretty much be forced into Lioden's system... Which doesn't even make sense here. You've played LD?

Thank you very much! I like your wolfers, too, especially your pups!

Yeah, wolves don't even work the way lion prides do. In fact, real wolf packs are usually just two parents and their pups (including grown-up pups). Actually, one of the reasons wolves were so easy to domesticate into dogs is because wolf pack structure and human hunter-gatherer band structure are actually pretty similar!

....Sorry about the tangent, I can get pretty nerdy about this kind of stuff.

For real! I don't want Wolverden to be super realistic, but at least reasonably enough so. There's the argument that letting all males breed destroys the studding system, but that's what the breeding male could be for. The other males can only breed within the pack. Of course people could risk traditional breeding, but it'd be the same as if you breed her to the BM, still going to be this amount of puppies born. There's so many studs out there to breed her to anyways, so regardless, still going to be a puppy issue, but not worsened just because all males could breed. The studding system will still be used because not everyone wants to risk losing a wolf over traditional breeding, and most players will have a fee for traditional anyways, which people will choose to risk if a BM is out of slots. It could be made that non BMs only have one slot every heat period of a female, so that one slot gets refreshed every 8 days, or even 20 days. Then some people say that there would be a even more of a puppy problem, but the other males can only breed as much as the breeding male would be able depending on females. If you had ten in heat girls and 20 males in your pack, including your BM, there's still only going to be ten girls that'd be preggo, assuming you bred them all, regardless who you bred them to.

I'mma probably go throw my own two cents on the allow all males to breed suggestion, but there's already over 400 comments anyways I'm not going to bother to read through for all valid points, so probably not. People have been debating on that since EA, and seeing as it's not an auto-reject, I hope they implement it so it won't ruin the markets with reasonable restrictions such as only giving a non BM one slot, which refreshes every twenty days after being bred.

No worries at all! Nerd out, if you must!

Yeah. Clearly a surpluss of puppies is gonna happen no matter what, since people tend to like baby animals and the genetics system can produce some interesting results. Like, I know I have puppy fever, and I'm sure other players do too.

But animal behavior is something I've always been interested in, possibly because I grew up watching nature documentaries.

I agree, especially with so many people! I'm just starting to get over mine here, oof!

I've been interested in it a year ago, but then I got caught up in all this and all that. Sometimes I watch documentaries, but not as much anymore.
