I approach the group of pokeponies, sitting down nearby with Scorch and Nightshade. The deerling was adorable, but too close to the pidgey to try and catch at the moment. For now, the trio would wait and watch. Pulling out poffin, I split it and offer a half each to Nightshade and Scorch.

Go {Pokeball}!

Watching as another trainer attempts to catch the pidgey, I tell Scorch to sit for a bit, before approaching the deerling with Nightshade.

"Hello there, sweetheart. Would you like to come with me and my boys? This is Nightshade, the houndour under the tree over there is Scorch, and I'm Orias, or Ori." I hold out a pokeball, button facing the deerling.

The pokeball hit the pidgey in the head and sucked it in. It shook twice before breaking open. However the pokepony did not flee right away. You may try to throw another ball at it to try to catch it.

The deerling blinked at you twice but before you can finish introducing you and your pokemon it flees back into the safari.

(I feel bad these deerling do not want to be caught by anyone i think i've rolled critical fails for all of their encounters so far)
