|~| Clan Hierarchy |~|

Leader -  The leader is the head of the clan. They have three lives, given to them by their three most important ancestors. Their name always has the suffix "star". The leader is in charge of the clan, performs naming ceremonies, appoints deputies, and speaks at gatherings. They decide whether or not to go into battle. They can mentor apprentices or have kits but usually don't due to their important jobs. 

Deputy -  The deputy is the second in command of the clan. They must have had at least one apprentice before they can become a deputy. The deputy may become the next leader when the previous leader dies or is dismissed from the clan in any other way. When a deputy dies, retires, or is dismissed, the new deputy must be appointed within twenty-four hours.

Healer -  The healer cures the sick and injured cats in his/her clan. They also read prophecies, signs, omens, and dreams from their ancestors. They go to the Crystal Cave (located in the middle of the territory of the four clans) every month to share tongues with them. Healers are allowed to take mates, but can not have kits. There is only one healer and their novice in a clan. All healers remain united past clan borders.

Shikaris -  The shikaris of the clan are where most cats rank. They hunt and fight for the clans. They are allowed to have mates and kits. Most shikaris will have at least one novice in their lifetime. When a shikari dies, the clan will bury them and put flowers in the nearest river or stream in remembrance of them (this goes along with any cat in the clan at all). When a novice becomes a shikari, they keep a silent vigil all night and guard the camp during that time.

Rovers -  The rovers are the patrollers, scouts, and spies of the clans. There are only two rovers in a clan at a time, and they usually only train one novice their entire life, if any at all. They are responsible for finding possible threats within the territory or finding out good information from the other clans and relaying it back to their leader or deputy. These cats are usually very agile and silent, and, more often than not, quite small.

Novices - The novices train to be shikaris or rovers. They get a shikari or rover as a mentor to teach them how to hunt and fight or scout, spy, and patrol until they are ready to become the chosen rank. Novices must be at least six months old before appointed. Novices are in charge of bringing moss back to camp, clearing out the nests in the nursery and elders den, and they check the elders for ticks. Some novices are late due to injury, illness, inexperience, or size.

Queens -  The queens are the cats that birth and raise kits. They can only formally be shikaris or rovers since healers can not have kits. A cat can be a queen when they are expecting kits or nursing kits. Some she-cats don't go into the nursery until their kits are almost due. Some queens don't stay in the nursery with their kits. On rare occasions, a she-cat stays in the nursery when she isn't nursing or expecting kits but doesn't want to retire (and acts sort of like a broodmother or nanny for the other queens and kits).

Kits - Kits are newly born clan members. They are usually taken care of by a queen. Kits need to be six months old to become novices. The kits are usually confined to the nursery or space outside of it but are always in the sight of their mother or whoever else is watching them at the moment. Kits can be quite mischievous and are hard to keep track of if not dealt with properly.

Elders -  Elders are retired leaders, deputies, healers, shikaris, rovers, and queens. They retire when they feel that they are too old, or are injured in a way that prevents them from continuing what they used to do, like if they became deaf or blind. Some elders fight when the clan is invaded, others protect kits. They are checked for ticks by novices and their bedding is taken care of by novices as well.

~Physical Description: Lean yet muscular tortoiseshell-tabby tom with long whiskers and tail. He has white hind toes and a white marking on his chest. His eyes are a striking yellow, as well as his shoulder marking. He takes good care of his coat, resulting in it reflecting a nice, shiny gleam.

~Backstory: Maplestar grew up with only one other sibling, who is now known as Fallingleaf. Being so, they were a closely-knit couple, and they did all of their novice tasks together (if they could, of course. Mentors can be cruel in the way of separating poor kin). They had their shikari ceremonies together, and would almost always go hunting with one another. However, they fell apart a little when Maplestar became the new deputy of Autumnclan, while Fallingleaf was left behind to continue her ordinary duties as a shikari. Now that Maplestar is the leader of Autumnclan, he tries his best to make time for his sister.

~Physical Description: Strong, sleek dark tom with lighter areas, like on his tail tip, left forepaw, and inner ears. Black skin and chartreuse eyes, as well as his orange marking on his shoulder that all adult clan cats bear. Two scars on his left thigh and one across his right eye, but it does not impair his sight.

~Backstory: Coalstar was born in a litter of three with his siblings Ashkit and Sootkit. However, they were taken away in the wings of death after an illness intruded Summerclan. His father Goldensight also fell victim to the illness. His mother survived, but she was extremely weak and passed away only a few days after his apprentice ceremony. Kinless, Coalstar put up a hard barrier around his emotions, and more importantly, his heart. In reality, he just fears getting too close to others, knowing that one day they will leave him, whether it be due to death or just in general. When he became a warrior, he slowly replaced the sympathy of his clanmates for him with respect, and he raised into the ranks as deputy and later leader.

~Name: Frozenivy

~Physical Description: Frozenivy is a thick-furred she-cat, but from a distance, she looks like any other short-fur. This is because her pelt doesn't give off the 'fluffy' appearance, but it provides her with the necessary warmth for living on the Frostbite Plateau. Her corium is dominantly white, save the blueish-grey markings on her head, ears, and tail. Her skin and nose are bicolored, just like her abnormal eyes, a first in Winterclan.

~Backstory: Frozenivy was born in a litter of three, alongside Littlewhisper and Irisecho. Their mother, Flurrylark, was more than happy to know she had a full batch of little she-cats, and she cared for them all she could before she died. She, like many other cats in Winterclan, died due to a sudden prey shortage in their territory, but they recovered steadily. Their father stayed strong and took care of them until they were independent enough. Frozenivy was often picked on for her strange eyes when she was an apprentice, but she came to love them, for they set her apart from the others. Her sisters each had one color of eyes that Frozenivy had, as well. For example, Littlewhisper has pale yellow eyes, while Irisecho has pale blue eyes. They trained to become Shikaris, wanting to provide for their clan through prey and protection, but Frozenivy saught the life of a healer.

~Physical Description: Tinyrose is a smaller she-cat with a pale base and darker tabby markings. They range from a somewhat dusty orange-ish color to a light brown. Her eyes are a pretty teal, more on the blue side, and her nose and pads are a gentle pink. She is petite in build and has little paws, but she can still fight as a formidable opponent if she has to, using her size to her advantage in some scenarios, even. This comes in handy as a Rover.

~Backstory: Tinyrose grew up with only one other sibling, her brother, Cloverfoot. She has learned from whispers among the elders that there used to be five in total in their litter, but their mother and father refuse to tell them what happened to the other three, or their names. This didn't matter much to the pair anyway as they went through a normal apprenticehood. The two are still new to their respective roles but are both succeeding in them greatly so far.

~Physical Description: 

As for his appearances, since he is a Siberian cat, most of his color comes from his paws,  face, limbs, and ears. They are a deep chocolate-y color. His body is a creamy-white color, reminiscent of heavy whipping cream. His eyes are an icey-blue, like a thin bit of the ocean. His nose and paws are a sweet bubblegum pink, and his skin is an even lighter pink color. He tends to wear a leaf crown with one red pansy, and a stone armlet on his right front paw.

Backstory:

Basilsong was once a young kit born to a lovely family, with a sweet, yet frail little sister. They were all quite happy, until little Basil had innocently wandered off from his family of street strays, trying to look for some food for his mum. You see, they had been running out of food and momma cat was pregnant with ANOTHER litter, dad couldn’t go because he was taking care of mom, and his sister was too fragile, so he took it apon himself to save his family. He went out in the middle of the night in search of food, but all he found was some dumb herbs. He decided to take some with him, and kept searching.. he then stumbled upon Springclan’s prey pile. He immediately started gathering food, but then a warrior (now an elder) spotted him. Obviously, the warrior tried to get all the food back, but Basil quickly ran off. When he returned to his family, he’d realized.. they weren’t there anymore. He’d realized that they would never return. The warrior who was following comforted little Basil, but all he could think about was that he had no family now. The kind warrior then took him with them to Springclan’s nursery where they gave him to a mother who’d also recently lost her pups, and she raised him to be a strong warrior. Yet, he’d felt that he had a different calling. He wanted to be a medicine cat, though there was already an apprentice. He decided that he would be a great Shikari, one of the greatest. One day, the medicine cat had suddenly died of old age, and when the time came for the apprentice to step up, they decided that they wouldn’t be a medicine cat, what they’d really wanted to be was a Shikari. So, there was a gap in the role for a bit, and Basil used that gap to learn everything he could about herbs. When he’d felt he knew enough, he decided to share his talent with everyone by healing the ex leader. There was much protest from the leader, as they thought Basilsong wouldn’t know how to take care of them properly, but he’d proved them all wrong, and the leader healed quite quickly. The clan then realized that Basil was necessary to them as a healer, so then they’d made him one. Fast forward to now, where he’s one of the most knowledgeable, if not the most knowledgeable cat when it comes to herbs and cures. :)

Okay, I feel like I’m supposed to put a song here, so I will. Jack Stauber’s recent album, OPAL is one of my favorites, and really hits home, especially with “WE SEE YOU OPAL (Reprise)”, and it makes me cry every time I hear it.

~Physical Description: Dark gray(almost black) she-cat, with white undersides that extend all the way up to her face and under her tail. Most of her face is white, and she has long fur and sparkling orange eyes. Her fur sometimes will fluff up around her face when she sits down. She is a rover and has an orange paw on her left shoulder.

~Backstory: Snowsplash was born in a litter of three, with Mrytledawn and Streakkit, who was born still. Her parents, Fawntail and Sootclaw raised her and Myrtledawn in WinterClan, both not stopping for long to think about their lost kit. Snowsplash and Myrtledawn fit together like a puzzle. One is energetic, the other quiet. One may goof off, the other is serious. One will be honest, and the other will be sarcastic. Despite their differing personalities, these two love each other and will do anything for their sibling. Myrtlepaw is a pale gray short-haired tabby, with bright green eyes. The two siblings have commented on each other's appearance, but most of the time Snowsplash would keep her comments about her sister's appearance to herself. Sootclaw died of a sickness later on when the two siblings had become Shikaris and Rovers, and Fawntail continues to reside as a Shikaris, debating whether or not to retire to the elder's den.
