Help me perfect a pup pricing formula!

@WolvesOutcast, the trouble with the special markings is once they come out people start breeding for them like crazy. So they're ridiculously valuable for a while, then the value plummets because the marking is everywhere, and then (hopefully) the market stabilizes and they're more valuable but not outrageously so. Hence some people talking about a modifier that helps deal with the market being oversaturated. |

@WolvesOutcast I chase a lot of pups. Probably 70% of the pups I breed, I chase. If it's not T2 and the stats are less than 400 I don't even try to sell them. Males I used to chase immediately as well but now that there's pair bonding I'm sending a few here and there out into the TC and hoping for the best. |

@Bonibaru How does one go about higher stats? I cant get above 300 though now that pair bonding is a thing i can breed my close to 400 stat wolves to try and get those high stats. |

@WolvesOutcast stats are one of the few predictable things in the game :) so that's why pricing them is maybe a little easier for me than markings and bases are, lol. We've been collecting data from the leaderboard wolves ever since early access and there's a calculator available that's still pretty up to date. It will tell you a range to expect from the parents' stats (expanded to include the possibility of a Runt penalty or a Largest Pup boost) - see Tab 2 for predicted breeding stats and Tab 1 for predicted individual stats from leveling. Come to think of it I don't know if this would be helpful for your pricing formula, but if you're going to include a factor for baseline stats at birth, you might be able to even predict what the minimum baseline stats would be at maximum level (the calculator can't account for random +1 stats gained from battles or scouting, of course) and factor in a wolf's future potential? Anyway the calculator is here. |

Just popping back in to say how grateful I am for all this amazing discussion going on! It has seriously been wonderful to read everyone's comments about developing their own formulas or adding in suggestions about what could be valuable! I haven't had time to sit down and respond to each and every person like I'd really hoped to do, what with near-constant knitting I've been doing ahead of Christmas, but I've been trying to keep bumping the thread to encourage folks to keep engaging and hope to get back into this after the holidays are over. To show my appreciation for you all I also went through and left a gift for every single person who commented on this thread! It's nothing major as I don't have a ton to spare but hopefully it will aide in your crafting adventures :D Happy holidays y'all, and thanks for helping this bad-at-math data nerd feel a bit better about herself. |

does the sex changer have to be added even when it was never changed? |

In my experience, the biggest factor should be stats. I have no problem paying a fair bit for 400+ stats (bought a Feldspar 450 stats boy with two markings for 500sc, for example), and for now, I usually manage to sell my 400+ stats pups for 200+ sc. Tier II+ and number of markings + presence of combos should have the other biggest influence, I think. |
