"But shes my leader.. I cant have her as a mate.." Z said " what about you though? do you have anyone special yet?" He asked   smiling a little. he had eyes on her now but didnt say it

"If you guys love each other, your ranks shouldn't get in the way," she said lightly. She paused for a second at the question. " Any wolf I do meet I've fought with over some food scraps so not really."

" too bad.. i kinda like you" Z  blushed before digging intot he food again.

Ad's ears felt hot with embarrassment and she took a bite of her prey to avoid having to say anything. When she had swallowed she looked up at the sky. "It uh, might rain..."

Z looked up "  well come on then..  " he headed into the den with the others and sat shaking . he was sensitive to weather.

Ad helped him move the prey to a place it would be protected from the rain and joined the others, shaking the first droplets from her ears.

kassie sighed " bad time to go hunting huh, Z?" she chuckled " at least you and Ad are safe. make sure you two have time together."

Then she went to Ad and asked quietly " do you want to stay here with us or would you want to go back to your own pack?" she asked 

Z didnt look at her but at Ad in wonder. 

Ad looked down at her paws and pawed at a stone absent-mindedly. “I don’t really have a pack, or a place to go back to for that matter. I usually just stay where it’s dry.”

Z smiled " you can stay with me and my pack if you want" he said nuzzling her gently before retreating farther into the den where it was warmer 

Ad smiled. "Thanks," she yawned, finding a spot near the mouth of the cave to curl up so she could watch the rain.
