Z shook his head confused as well. Then thought of something he thought  of asking her awhile back, but chose not too " Do you want to be my mate, Adelite. I didn't want to ask you awhile back.. afraid you would say no. I still would be happy even if you did. I just want to be there for you, no matter what you choose. I love you Adelite. And that will never change, even if I was to go on a trip far away from you."

He looked at her for quite some time before looking away, clearly upset.

Adelite stared at him wide eyed before looking away. She had thought the same thing for a while, even wondering if Z felt it back and it was true. After a pause she rested her bed next to Z. “Of course.”

Z rubbed his head against hers and licked her face " I wont do anything you dont want me to do. I promise. Ill give you all the space you need. But, im going to be there for you, always." He soon fell asleep with his head on her back, slightly purring

Adelite fell asleep shortly after, nestled next to Z.

The following morning, Z carefully snuck out of the Alpha den to go hunt for the pack. He made sure that Adelite could find him so he marked territory every few yarns. He hunted down an elk by himself and waited to see if anyone else would smell it from far away. 

Lust was walking around the territory and watched as they other wolves worked.  " where did Z go.. anyone know?"

Adelite blinked her eyes open and left the den. “What’s going on Lust?”

“I don’t know, he didn’t tell me. But he’s the beta so he doesn’t have to,” she stared at Lust. Where was Z? When did he leave? “And what kind of assignment?”

" that's his business. not yours" Lust said looking at Adelite. " But if you do see him, please have him come to me as soon as possible."

She then walked off to talk tot one of the other wolves

Adelite’s ear twitched, annoyed. Lust’s behavior towards her had sure changed since she took the Alpha rank. She turned and left camp, smelling for Z’s trail.
