UPDATE: Now closed! We have 33 entrants who submitted a total of 67 design entries! Holy wow! UPDATE: Winners announced!! (clicky) Welcome to my "help help I've no idea what I want to do with this wolf" contest thread! My next breeding male is growing up fast, and I have only a few days left to decide on a look for him. I'm great at designing wolves for other people but rubbish at designing for myself, so I hope someone out there might have a great idea they're willing to let me use! How It Works: -Follow this Convenient Wardrobe Link to the wolf in question -Make him look pretty - - Please do not change his base! (if you need more guidance, see helpful suggestions below). -Post a link to your creation(s) in the comments of this thread (there is no limit, enter as many as you like) -The contest will end before rollover on Saturday, December 12 (not sure exactly what time - but I'll post a "closing soon" warning a couple of hours before) -I will choose the design I like best and award a prize of 25 GC to the winner! -Everyone who participates will get a small gift as a thank you for entering (spoiler alert: it may be food or amusement items, but it might be something else like a healing salve or lucky foot depending on how many final entries there are and how many I have lol) Helpful Suggestions -Please try to limit design to markings available in applicator/customizer -10 marks preferred! -I like soft, layered, blended markings that make realistic/natural looking wolves. -On the other hand I also like bold, contrast-y markings that make realistic/natural looking wolves. -Markings I definitely do like (but don't feel obligated to use them): Dilution, Smudge/Heavy Smudge, Highlights, Cross/Inverted Cross, and various under markings (see above re: layering). I tend to favor white and black markings, as well as the occasional subtle red (to try for Auburn combos). I like lighter undersides, and facial marking/patterns that draw attention to the eyes. I like cute little details like patterns and shading on the tail and/or limbs. -Markings I really don't like (please avoid): Head Stripe, Belly Stripe, Ear Tips, Inner Ear, Mask/Half Mask, Eyebrows, and Grizzle, and absolutely anything Yellow or Honey colored. Definitely *no merle*, please! -All marks with full opacity at 100% doesn't usually appeal to me - love to work that layering and blending! Thanks in advance for your help, and if any questions, please fee free to ask! |

I made two! One with a black head stripe, because I love how it draws attention to the face and smooths marbled speckling arpund the eyes, and the other with half opacity red mantle layered under a black mantle, because I adore the detail it adds to the face. |

Welp, this guy doesn't look "natural" like a wolf you'd find in the wild, but I had fun making him! |

I return! This is rather layered, mostly mid/low opacities, and a bit geared towards combo marks. It's also a bit pastel, so there's also that. |
