pronoun changes?

Posted 2021-12-03 18:18:31
I don't think I've posted on here already, but major support! We have magic lunar wolves (which don't exist) so why can't we have representation for queer ppl that very much do exist? I really like Venex's idea of the pronoun changes only being available on secured wolves or smth along those lines. Tbh, I'd actually appreciate the "Sex" portion of the wolf info to stay the same, if only for clarity's sake! He's my very rudimentary mock-up of what I was thinking might work :)

Oh I love that a lot actually! That and just the little flavor text changes would be perfect!!

Also I would prefer text boxes to put in pronouns, but if that were the case I'd very much hope that there's a content filter in case someone decided to put hateful things as their wolves' pronouns as a particularly unfunny joke or whatever they want to frame it as :")

oooh the mockup looks really cool, and I do like keeping the bio sex listed for breeding purposes, so I think that's a perfect way to show the wolf's pronouns

Got inspired by Shiba and decided to make a similar mock-up for light mode as well as a "pronoun selector" similar to that we have for roles!

I really like this mockup!! It's clear without being confusing and it's not like in your face or taking up too much room.

Ghostie's mock-up is perfect imo! It's unobtrusive and straight-forward, I wasnt quite sure how to put a selection feature into a mock-up without it looking wonky and she did a great job making it fit perfectly :)

No support, or rather, I'm neutral - as long as this were to be implemented as a toggle. I'm here for the gameplay and not the RP aspect, so I'd prefer to opt out of something like this, as for me it would be unnecessary clutter on my wolves' pages - as in, I wouldn't need it for breeding my wolves like I need genetics, as an example.

That's just me, though! I do understand lots of people are here for the RP aspect, and something like this would be really important and fun for them. Hence making this a toggle would be perfect; it would allow people to opt in or out at will, allowing everyone their personal preferences and interests.

i'd like to have this as an option, at least! i'm not super into lore, but i do have a couple of wolves whose sexes don't necessarily match the genders i personally perceive them as, and i'd love to be able to set their pronouns somehow. i know i can add their pronouns to their footnote or bio, but that doesn't change the pronouns the game refers to them with.
some of the more common neopronouns would be nice to have (and it'd be absolutely amazing if we could manually input custom pronouns), but even just being able to choose between he/him, she/her, and they/them would be a very appreciated addition, i think.

I would prefer the pronouns to be visible next to the wolf's name rather than next to the sex.... to me it looks jarring to have "Male" next to "she/her" - I've seen a lot of people on this site having their pronouns next to their names, or with emails, people having their pronouns next to their names there...

maybe that's transphobic for me to say that but like... I'd rather find out pronouns when the name's introduced, not after finding out what your sex is... why not apply that to the wolves too? I guess maybe that requires a bit too much though - I like how some players have put the wolves pronouns in the header/footer section of the name, similar placement for the actual pronoun placement in game would be nice 'cause I don't really bother scrolling down to see the sex bit I just look at the wolf and think "cool".
