I live there! Its pretty good, hunting isnt too crazy but a bit harder.

I've found a Klamath basin, still looking for a Lapland bunting and added to my list an alpine forget-me-not, also from the tundra.

And about biomes, coniferous forest or prairie are both good! Coniferous forest has bigger large prey on average, prairie has winterfat (for open wound salves and the new background) plus the daily fishing leaderboard isn't wildly competitive. Depends what you're looking for!
