The Problem With Silver Cones

Posted 2021-02-13 10:57:23

Fully agree with everything here. I literally have to sell my items in GC and then sell that GC for SC to make any sort of profit, because people are too scared of high SC numbers to choose that buyout. But because the GC:SC market fluctuates, I sometimes lose money for no reason when trying to resell the GC to get the SC I so desperately need. Just today I had to remove my 75 SC trades that weren't selling and drag them down to 64 because exactly TWO people had undercut to 65 & 60. Two people with a lot of GC ruined the market for everyone else today. This is the main way I get money—but really, I shouldn't even have to sell for GC and resell for SC. SC should be easier to get so that I can do away with this ridiculous extra step.

What's worse is there are jackasses that will take a reasonably priced pup and trying to "flip" them for a higher price after purchase, so even being kind about some of my higher stat pups in terms of pricing has really soured me on the market in general. At this point, I'd rather chase a wolf than go through that sniping nonsense again (or just offer them direct to novice players, at whom the lower prices were aimed).

I agree btw that the competitive fishing thing isn't worth it. I've barely maintained an interest in even getting the full 100 SC due to the time investment that's required PLUS the absolutely dickish RNG that will spring a really challenging radial minigame on you in spite of the fish you "snagged" being a lamprey or something. It's annoying to the point that I, someone who has probably wasted literal months worth of hours on every fishing minigame ANY game has ever thrown at me, get frustrated and peace out sooner rather than later.

I know in the news update I also vented about the lack of SC we can earn a day but I must say that now it is even worse with the hunting update :( At least for me! I have been having much less success hunting and so the hunting quests have been even more challenging.

Again, I make at MOST just over 300 sc a day if I am able to complete a quest, find enough to give to the raccoon, and fish. And that is VERY rare. I think if nothing see we need more and frankly, more fair games. Like yeah, slots are cool but odds are you will spend way more than you will win. Also, a daily sc per rollover amount would help as well. And as mentioned by others, you usually have to spend at least half of what you make on a good day as well :( Something needs to change.

I completely agree! I can never seem to get sc!

In my experience, hunting quests were always a case of 'have multiple hunting packs to have a prayer of meeting the bare minimum,' because RNG RNG RNG. Even with multiple hunting packs, you can just not make the 5 to 6 hunt deadline. I get the feeling Questing Snake takes your hunting packs' stats and level into account when tallying up the number of hunts necessary to meet the quest goal while also completely failing to account for this game's truly maddening overreliance on RNG.

Between scrying and territory expansions/retiring wolves, I’ve spent about 3k sc this week and have made almost none of it back. There’s just not much of a way to earn sc anymore

Full support. Quest rewards are often the only way I can get enough food bundles, and they vanish fast. I don’t want to have to chase wolves to stagger resources!

Fully Support. I have been playing since early access and still have such few slots for my wolves, and recently had to replace my pack because i couldnt buy them back.

Anytime i save up enough for slots, my wolves get sick, or run off from being starved/unamused. I really all am for challenges but...without paying real money its so hard to progress. I spent real money buying an expensive wolf and probably will need to again to expand my territory if i want to keep any good pups.

From the get go it seems its almost just easier fishing out cash for currency than it is to grind, to me theres no reason to grind with such frustrating caps.

With little success in hunting, and few slots making me weary to breed any wolves to then sell- i make at best 100SC a day [on a good day] or more if my wolves would stay healthy while i save up, but my luck there is awful.

I dont send hate or anything on players who buy currency with real money-i dont blame them at all, but when it feels so 'pay to win' or more like Pay to Progress its just so frustrating with the game itself

I keep getting successful hunting quests, and RIGHT before i make the last hunt it expires because of how little successes i get with the time i need it done. I know thats just bad luck but to me just makes everything difficult and stressful rather than fun. I dont want to progress through the roof in one night, but weeks upon weeks and having such bad luck and losing my wolves all the time and never making anything 'worth it' is really discouraging to play at times.

Full support. SC is insanely hard to grind up. I'd love for some fun new ways to get SC and to just somewhat increase the general SC income from things we already do.

More/better spread out sc sinks would be nice too. When sc is really hard to get for new players but abundant for rich players (who can afford to buy expensive things to use to make more sc/gc), it creates an unstable market like we have no. More in-game things that put it back in the game, especially ones that increase with the more sc you have, would go a long way towards leveling the playing field, I think.
