The Problem With Silver Cones

Although territory slots and raccoon shop prices are quite enormous, taking a good effort to buy anything from them, I doubt these will be lowered. Whatever item or feature is introduced into the game, the prices seem to be final, constant and not subject to be changed. The only motive I can suppose is to avoid unfairness that would result in price change - players who have already paid for the item or feature with higher price will raise complaints. From the OP the only idea I like is Daily Quests rework and Derpy's expansion on it. I'd also like to add that it'd be great for easy quests to be exempt from slaying bears and marine animals, finding carcasses that are bigger than critters and hunting in winters. Raising SC gain seems to be out of option not only because of the supposed motive I've explained but also, as Derpy mentioned, prices in the TC behave depending on the relation between the seller and the currency - if everybody gains more SC, the seller will raise the price. Those who watched prices in the TC after fishing minigame was introduced can confirm that SC prices increased then. It always happens when SC source is introduced. The purpose of raccoon's stinginess is to recycle the excess of items. Food, herbs and amusement items seem to be more produced than consumed and the raccoon helps in utilizing them - it's over half the SC players produce and if the raccoon didn't trade SC, players would sell these items in the TC for raccoon prices. Lifting the limit would result in calamity because selling items would release tens of millions of SC in motion according to the Item Catalogue, then an inflation arises. 5000 SC exploration cap doesn't seem to refer to the problem mentioned in the OP. Let it be reminded that the goal is to help those struggling with SC. A player with above 5000 SC doesn't struggle with currencies - the player can afford to expand territory buy anything from the raccoon shop. The exploration penalty helps the cause rather than hinders it. It discourages rich players from hogging the SC so they're more likely to take offers in the TC. |

So before this gets mentioned WRT fishing, there is a way to make a pretty decent amount of SC with it, which is aiming for the heaviest fish so you get the delicate meat item, but 'decent' depends on how you feel about the time required to manage it. Delicate meat is 5sc/each, IIRC, which you can sell to the raccoon without dipping into the rest of your stores, but a) just getting the capped 100sc from fishing per day takes longer than an hour, b) going after heavier fish demands a lot more attention on the minigame than most people are willing to tolerate. Like two hours bare minimum of just camping on the minigame. So while people will probably be able to tell you that it's possible to make around 250SC from fishing in a day, they're purposefully bypassing how long it takes to make that happen. That is easily 2-4 hours of your life you will never get back. As for the raccoon's prices wrt decors and other items, they should be lowered regardless of complaints. 'I suffered with this system so you have to also' is an impressively dumb argument to make against arbitrary price points that a lot of players are outright saying is beyond their capacity to afford. Not everyone plays every day, or frequently enough to make ends meet, and that's ultimately what it comes down to: are you playing often enough to generate SC, or are you paying into the game to bypass the grind/not be penalized by a few days of absence? It's reasonable to ask for a middle ground. |

I completely agree with all of these points. I dunno how taboo it is to talk about other pet sites on here because I'm not trying to be overly critical, but after spending almost 6/7 years on Flight Rising, I gotta say this site has SUCH a brutal "learning curve"/playstyle that I think might actually turn folks away instead of wanting to come back and play every day. Like the non-premium currency being so hard to get when you begin is just.. a little ridiculous? There needs to be more ways for players to be able to gain currency that doesn't involve dishing out actual money into the site. I know getting currency for free can be seen as a handout but honestly, I kind of think how FR handles consistent logging in is relatively decent? Not to say that the rewards on the daily are bad, but maybe adding a few cones in per day would be nice and if you've been going 20-30+ days in a row, like higher percentage of cones or even a gold cone? Might be out of the question but just me musing a tad tbh But back to the main issue- increasing dens is also WAAYYY too expensive with each increase and like OP also mentioned, with the games we currently have, we really don't make many cones and that's that there's really only one game that makes you cones while the other two are money sinks. Personally I don't think it's a great idea to have a gambling slots game when this is sort of aimed at kids too but that's prolly more of a personal schtick- anyhow, I think the current fishing game definitely could use some fixing meanwhile we wait on another little game to come out that'll also help with us making some cones as well |

I agree with all of these. I've complained to friends before on how expensive some prices are for wolves and studs. Meaning wolves that have mutations, or are a mutation carrier, or tier 2 bases. I've seen prices for those wolves have up to 25000SC and 500GC and I don't have that amount of money to buy them, it's to pricey. Sometimes I see people selling quest items for 200SC and I sometimes can't afford that. The worth of items that are 1-5SC in selling price is so worthless, I can't earn anything, I instead sell off meat and amusement items because they are worth more and it's so annoying to try and earn much SC as possible to afford anything. Then there is the issue that you mentioned that if a wolf doesn't have a desirable base, marking or mutation that they never sell. Several litters of mine that I put on sale never get bought even though I feel they are very beautiful and colourful but because it doesn't have anything desirable it doesn't get bought and it's upsetting, I'm unable to earn SC through selling my wolves and I have all my wolves sell below 100SC because I know how hard it is to earn SC. Then the issue of Tier 3 or mutation studs being so pricey, I've seen prices for stud being up to 1200Sc and 30GC and it's just too much. I do agree that Tier 3 and special wolves for stud should be worth a lot more but people just aren't earning enough SC to spend it. The only people able to send a breed request to these high prices for stud are the ones who earn a profit through selling and breeding desirable wolves. Otherwise the average player is unable to afford it and I find it unfair. I don't have all the time in the world to play this game, to earn SC, to be able to spend my in real life money on GC to make desirable wolves to breed with and sell. The event we just experienced as even more frustrating as I couldn't play most of the event because I was studying 15 hours a day in university and had a major surgery on my mouth. I know the developers are trying to make it fair for everyone because there are people that play this game 24/7 and would probably earn a lot more because of it but I find it unfair for players who can't be active in the game all day. I'm unable to get any more breeding requests ever since Tier 3 studs became the most desirable bases to breed with, leaving my Tier 2 pale stud to not get anything. I used to earn a profit with him as my stud but now I get 0-1 requests and the only time I get a request is at least once a week which isn't as much as it used to be. If I'm not earning enough SC through my stud or selling any of my pups then I'd need to earn enough SC through something else throughout the day. Even in battles you don't earn any SC unless it is an enemy higher level than you. Unlike Lioden, you don't earn SC through winning any battles, it just leaves things unrewarded for winning a tough battle. I play this game to relax and to stud my males and to sell my pups and grow families within my pack, taking care of my pack, etc. It shouldn't be something hard to play. |

I completely agree with you on the stud and pups part, I have mainly t1 wolves and their pups never sell, even the prettier ones or with more markings, and my stud has never gotten a request- even now that I wasted money on marking apps amd a base changer to make him look better. I'm lucky enough to have been able to play the event to earn money with it, but I know it'll be only temporary and soon I'll struggle again. The easiest way to earn, in all honesty, is selling healing salves and lucky feet in bulk, but you still need to be lucky enough to get enough of those and not use any. Even trophies from battles have been selling for way too cheap, unless they're fox items. The fish game helped, but unless you can stand the 10 minutes between each submission, you're not going to earn much |

So, the stud thing I can answer. I glanced at both your studs and can tell you it has nothing to do with base or marks: it's stats. Some breeders and sellers don't give a rip about stats, but WITHOUT them, T1 and T2 bases are less appealing because they're basically everywhere. Low-stat studs of interest are going to be T3 or Special, or they're going to have a mutation that's Of Interest. I had a lower-stat Pewter made to look natural, was modeled after a Great Plains subspecies, but he didn't get any attention until he started drifting into the mid-600 range. That's roughly when you'll start to get pings, because raising stats is really key to being able to hunt in tougher biomes, which bring in XP a lot faster/allow you to level your wolves a lot more quickly without having to cycle them in and out of the Scout role. This is not something the tutorial will explain or even come close to explaining, and I have yet to find it laid out accurately in any of the site guides, but it's a thing that exists, and has been a huge pain in the ass to figure out on my own. That being said: I have had decent luck selling T1 pups when their stats are in the 400s. Setting a price of 60 to 75 depending on where in the 400s they are, I will usually sell them off easily enough. T2s command a higher price, with the 500 stat pups drifting into the 100+ SC range, and I have never bought a pup off the TC with 500 stats for less than 200SC. Practical sellers CAN be found, and, conversely, I would honestly be surprised if the jokers demanding 500 GC for their 300 stat mel carrier actually got traction these days. The mutation is becoming a lot more ubiquitous, and, soon enough, their ludicrous prices will become even more of a joke than they are already. If either of you want higher stat pups btw, lmk. I'm happy to work out low-price deals for anyone struggling for SC, and have a lot of 400s-500s to choose from. EDIT: I'm happy to open this offer up to anyone in the thread. The sell-cave is here, and the only reason some pups are not currently listed on the TC is because I'm lazy. EDIT 2: There are high-stat studs at reasonable prices. I don't plan on letting my prices exceed 500 SC, and if you do a search for studs in the minimum-900 range, you'll find more than a few that, though not cheap, are still affordable, and don't have the same lineage problems as others. |
