🖤Melanism Breeding Project | Lower The Wealth Gap

🖤Melanism Breeding Project | Lower The Wealth Gap
Posted 2021-01-05 19:26:37 (edited)

I am partnering with Indie (wolvden.com) for this project.

The Goal:

The focus is currently on producing melanistic wolves, although later on I can shift to focusing on albino wolves, once I have the melanistic side of things all set up. The wolves produced, both carriers, and melanistic wolves, will be sold at slightly lower costs, so that they are more easily accessible to new players, and players that do not wish to spend real money on the game.
The first few wolves may or may not be sold at reduced prices, in order to get funding to start this whole thing up. Joshua, (
wolvden.com) a friend of mine who is working on breeding fatal mutations, will get one of the mela wolves produced as a thank you, and I will keep the first wolf for breeding purposes. I would like to be able to confirm carriers before selling them, so people no longer have to rely on the gamble of getting a carrier. I will try and give away non-carriers for free, rather than just chasing them. In the future, there could be free raffles for confirmed carriers or melanistic wolves, where anybody can enter, free of charge, in order to give literally anyone the opportunity to have mutation wolves.

It has been brought to my attention that doing this could crash the mutation market, so I will take steps to prevent a crash of the market, as to not harm anyone's existing breeding projects, and to make this venture more supportable by existing breeders without compromising their business.
This means that prices on mutation wolves may not be as low as I wanted to make them before, but that the difference in prices will go towards helping new players, and those unable to spend actual money on the game. For example, if the lower price for a confirmed carrier was going to be 40 GC (greatly reduced), then it would with the slightly lower price be about 70 GC (not as greatly reduced, but still cheaper than usual), and that would mean that 30 GC would go towards helping new players, and those who are unable to, or do not want to, spend money on the game. Players could be given SC or GC to help them get their packs started, and people struggling with getting GC later on in the game could also be given currency to help them. The money could also be used to give people food for their wolves, if they're in a pinch.

I am also now trying to find a NBW melanism carrier to start a new line. If anyone can donate SC for gene scrying that would be greatly appreciated.

Updates:

Made a deal with a breeder giving them a rare recipe in exchange for an IB melanism pup, will make the exchange once she is weaned. Super exited about this one!
Update, fell through, but I have managed to snatch another melanism pup from the trading system, as well as a whole buncha scried and confirmed carriers. The pup *was* a male, but I used a sex-changer, to bypass the stud changing fee.
She is now grown up, and I have sent her to breed with a second gen melanism stud, and she is carrying three pups. I've made her one of my scouts to increase her stats, since that seems to be what everyone is doing nowadays with their breeding wolves.

Okay, here's some exciting news! I bred my first melanism pup! His father is a stud named Crow, and his mother is Lyra, my melanism wolf. I decided to name him Atlas. He's NIB, and so handsome.

I have my own stud, now. wolvden.com He is a melanism stud, and pretty cheap, too. If any of you want to head on over there, it would be greatly appreciated.

Useful Help:

(some things that could help with the project, most useful at the top)

- Unconfirmed mela carrier
- Mela wolf studdings
- Mela carrier studdings
- Elk hearts
- Sex changers
- Instant pup delivery

Your help doesn't have to be large in order to be appreciated. Anything can help- Medicine, food, toys, even a few silver coins here or there. And for people with nothing to spare, just letting me know that you support the cause is enough.
Once we get going, I hope to be able to help everyone as much as you have helped us.

Ooooh, neat project. I'm breeding for a very specific wolf, so i keep breeding mela carriers I don't want. This carrier pup is related to several melanistic lines, but if you want him for the project I am happy to send him your way as soon as he's weaned.

That would be great! I can sex-change him and use him as a breeder, since he's not related to my stud.
Thank you so much for your help.
