Show Instances of Inbreeding

I support, this will save time when looking at larger lineages. As well as making it harder for players to post incorrect ads.

100% Support. I bought a pup a while ago that was inbred and didn't notice because it didn't show it smh

with some wolves having longer family heritage.

it can get harder to tell if the wolf has been inbreed.

so it would be very nice if you can tell if the wolf has been inbreed.

Support BUT I think it should be only to a certain point, maybe 10 generations (so the full family chart of the great grandparents). This is mostly for coding convenience. If a wolf has a tree that goes like 200 wolves back that's probably going to slow things down. I'm not a coder though so idk how much that would actually effect things. This also means the site would follow a line-breeding idea, which is something that exists in real breeding, and wouldn't make someone feel gross to have a symbol with their wolf that has a great great great great great... etc. Grandparent in common like 15-20 generations away.

I don't care much about inbreeding personally, but i did accidentally pair bond and breed a wolf to another that was related to it (ones father was the others grandfather) and then have to break the pair bond because i don't want inbreeding that close. (I personally go about 5 generations down)

Having no effect means nothing, it's a QOL feature. It would help some people no matter what. I do agree against pressuring players. Maybe instead a small warning pops up before you bond/breed that "this wolf is related to the other wolf by X generations" is a good alternative idea, but overall i support.

Kinda Support. I don't inbreed for lore and challenge purposes. It'll make things much easier for me, saving me time of looking through a family tree.

Though after reading some other views, I actually think it would be a better idea to have scrying that allows you to check if a wolf is inbred, maybe even one for checking if two wolves are related. Ethier one would be nice. It could cost 10 SC just like pup scrying. This might also help not lag things, not sure though.

Support! i also think this should be implemented past just the specific wolves 5 generations, and probably extend at least to the great great grandparents lineages as well (10 generations total).

Support to an extent. I know inbreeding avoidance is a big deal for some players, but if you're enough to even avoid half-sibs down the line, that's going to get tough.

I believe this was once mentioned before, but to potentially use inbreeding coefficients as used for many purebred dogs that measure percentages of inbreeding through a certain amount of generations. Especially with already a high number of leaderboard puppies, inbreeding going to happen.

I'm not sure how it's calculated, but it might be easier to reference than trying to find the specific instances.

This would be a nice feature for the scrying stone, where you can input two wolf IDs and see if they’re related within 5 generations. Ten generations back is 2,046 ancestors per wolf, I’d worry about the impact on the server. (Five generations is 62 ancestors per wolf, much more manageable!)

Edit: The inbreeding coefficient for full siblings is 25%. The inbreeding coefficient for a single common great great great grandparent (five generations back) is 0.19%. For reference, less than 5% COI in purebred dogs (eg dogs with a known lineage that allows for accurate calculations) is considered brag worthy.
