Show Instances of Inbreeding

Support. I like it how it is on Lioden - on the family tree. No paying to see/scry for it. I like the suggestion of toggling it off or on.

When I check lineage here and the sister site I go back all the way. Clean to me is no repeated wolves in the linage at all. That's how I prefer to play. On the sister site I have some that are clean, and some not. I keep them in separate caves.

It worked just fine over there so not sure why it wouldn't on this one as well.

Cannot remember if I supported already or a dif thread, but I'm supporting this regardless. I really want my wolves to be NIB within at least 5 Gens (since the parameters on FR is you cannot be related within 5 Gens so I'm used to this specific standard) but I have a lot of trouble like... navigating the family page as it is right now. Like idk man, I'm autistic I don't have the same thought process other people do no matter how much I want it and trying to sort through these pages in a way that makes sense to me right now is not really there? So I REALLY want an indicator on the family page of wolves being inbred.

I don't think we should have to pay for this, honestly. Most people checking the family page do seem to just be people that care about either being NIB or IB already. So people who straight up don't care most likely won't see and be swayed outside of the ways they already would be (word of mouth). And as for sales, I feel like considering NIB is such a notable playstyle you should already be telling people if your wolves are inbred and you know this for a fact.... It's just a QoL feature we could really use.

Could there be like a warning for when you're breeding two related wolves together? Like you enter in the wolves and something pops up saying "John is Jane's father. Are you sure you want to breed?". Or like with siblings since it can be hard to keep track sometimes. Idk if warnings would be wanted for like aunts/uncles/half-siblings/cousins but closely related wolves (siblings and parents) could use a warning?

(For context, I accidentally bred one of my females to her father) I totally understand if it's not wanted, just putting it out there <3

People don’t want to buy wolves with inbreeding, so it would be great to have a quick Check for the wolf itself, but also an option when you go to breed with someone’s stud to compare your lines to make sure there won’t be any inbreeding either.

A warning before breeding two possibly related wolves would be cool, but I would want that to be able to be turned off (such as the warning about unprotected pups).

No support. I think this would come too close to making NIB an officially-sanctioned playstyle. A new player who has no opinion on NIB/IB, or wouldn't normally mind inbreeding, may see the warning pop up and think "Oh, are you not supposed to do that?" Usually when a warning pops up in a game, it's because of an actual negative gameplay effect, not something that's completely gameplay-neutral/personal preference.

Support. Inbreeding really grosses me out and I want to have the option to see if a wolf is inbred without having to dig through names, gets hard on the eyes.

Quite frankly, no support - looking from an IRL standpoint and a practicality standpoint if you want a game to grow in any way.

Having no inbreeding whatsoever has disastrous effects on a game (I've been in multiple where this has been the rule, and shockingly enough those games have lost their draw / support over the years due to, quite frankly, foolish rules regarding inbreeding), especially when it has no effects at all - it leaves a disgruntled playerbase, who end up viewing the players with better things as being entitled, and it causes rifts, as well as stunting the rate at which things such as genes, or in the case of this game, stats and marks, will increase / change / etc.

I'm in support of games where it's not count as inbred if it's not on the visible lineage (there was similar suggestion a few pages back, about it not showing as inbred 8 gens or whatnot back).

@Ouroboros

Everyone has their own levels as to what is inbred for them.

I don't recall playing a game involving that but then again,  I'm picky so XD

Support, non inbred wolves are going to have a higher value whether or not certain players like it and this would prevent players from being possibly scammed. Different players care if a wolf is inbred for different reasons and it has been a largely useful tool on wolvden's sister site.
