Instant Birth Feather (IBF) - This one is a term carried over from Lioden and is referring to Wolvdens Instant Pup Delivery Grove item.

Clean - Refers to a wolf that isn't the result of inbreeding

Clean Breeding - Breeding with the intent of avoiding inbreeding

Traditional Breeding - Refers to the act of trading a female wolf in heat to another player to allow their stud to breed with her with the female wolf being returned to the original owner.

Potato/Potato Pup - Refers to a puppy or a wolf that very few or no markings, has no mutations, low stats, and has a T1 base. Basically, a pup or wolf without any unique or outstanding traits.

TI/TII/TIII - Refers to the rarity of the base on a wolf with TI being the most common and TIII being the rarest.

Commonly Asked Questions

1. What is the fastest way to earn sc?

At the start of the game earning sc can be a real slog. Here are some tips that worked for me, and have helped me long after my early days.

• Complete the daily quests. The Quest snake will give you 100-150sc for each completed quest.
• Play the fishing minigame. You can get up to 100sc.
  
• Sell extra Food, Amusement items, Lucky Foot, Healing Salves.
• Sell your art, if you have that talent.
• Give some of your acorns to the opossum encounter! This will always lead to a recipe that will give you 10 sc each from the racoon.
  
• Set up a stud. I really only recommend this later on though. Unless you're willing to drop some gc on customizing a male you aren't likely going to see much profit from this.

2. When does the herbalist unlock and what does it do?

The herbalist unlocks on your 5th rollover. The Quest snake will have a new quest that will give you a tutorial on the herbalist role. It is recommended that you have a wolf with a high wisdom stat for this role.

Basically, the herbalist can forage for herbs, diagnose wolves for illnesses, and craft medicines. At the 5th rollover your wolves will be able to get sick, get parasites, or get hurt. Some of these can go away on their own and don't cause much harm while others can be deadly. Some can even spread to other members of your pack. Your wolves may get ill randomly on rollover, after hunting, or after exploring. Newly Befriended Wolves (NBW) also have a chance to get ill after you befriend them.

3. How do I make my wolves better at hunting?

Hunting has multiple factors that can increase or decrease your chances of success. Sadly, in your first week, your hunting team is going to struggle. If you keep at it, and follow these tips, they will improve!

• Each wolf has a proficiency in a hunting role assigned to them. The higher their proficiency, the better they will be. This can only be improved by hunting. Keep in mind a wolf can only gain proficiency in one role at a time during the hunt, and it will always be the first role they were assigned. So, if you have a wolf who is assigned to the stalker and finisher role, they will only gain proficiency in the stalker role.
• Hunting parties have synergy that can only be improved by hunting with the members. Removing or adding members decreases synergy.
• The size of the scent trail determines the difficulty level of the hunt. The smaller the prey, the easier the hunt.
• Stats do matter! The higher the stats the better your hunter will be. Don't worry if your wolves are really low, your wolf will gain the necessary stats as they hunt! Generally speaking you want the following stats for each role: Stalker require high Smarts and Wisdom, Chasers need Agility and Speed, while Finishers need Strength.
• The personalities of your hunting party do matter! Certain personalities clash with each other, causing your chances of making a kill decrease. Currently Romantic and Stoic wolves do not get along, nor do Friendly and Aggressive wolves.
• The biome that you are hunting in does matter. This isn't a big concern at first, as the game will always give you a choice between the three easiest biomes. Simply keep this in mind when you decide to move. Each biomes challenge rating shows how difficult the hunting there will be. The higher your wolfs stats, the easier the hunting will be in those harder biomes.
  
  
  

It's been confusing me since I started, so I decided to ask about it, thank you in advance!

What are traditional breedings? And how are they done? And, if you happen to know, why are they called traditional breedings?
As far as I can tell it's not the "usual" way of breeding, using someones stud.. So how is it done?

A Traditional Breeding refers to a person breeding two wolves in their own pack. You can breed through two ways within your pack.

1. You may pick one "stud" Male wolf who has the ability to breed with any females within your pack. You may do this by going to you den, clicking on the "Breeding" Icon, and going into your settings. If none of this sounds familiar to you make sure to go to the quest snake in the crossroads. They will have a quest there that shows you how to set up a stud.

2. You pick two wolves to be Pair Bonded. Just like before there should be a quest available for you to take from the snake that will show you how this works. This allows other males within your pack to breed, though they will only breed with their bonded female.

I'll admit I'm not sure why it's called that. I do know it was a term used in the breeding sim the creators had made previously.

As for how to request a stud service, it's very simple! I'll use my stud as a reference.

If you click on his name you'll see the usual wolf page. Go to the "Breeding Information" square. There you'll see a blue button that says "Breed to this Breeding Male".

Clicking on it will bring you to a new page with the studs different breeding information and rules. Besides the image of the wolf is a tab. You use this to select a female wolf in your pack who is in heat. Once a female is selected you would scroll down, pick how you will pay for the service (in sc or gc), then you send the request! After that it's up to the stud to breed with your female. You will get a notification once your female is pregnant.

If you want to look for studs all you have to do is go to the chat, stockpile, then studs. This is where stud advertising is done so you can select the perfect stud for your girls, or advertise your own.

I got how breeding is usually done, as I'm reading my question again I can see how that's not clear :) As I was looking for studs from other members, there were always notes like 'only traditional breedings' or 'if he's out of slots, i can do traditional breeding' and so I didn't get how that worked.

A Rollover refers to the day changes that happen in the game. When 25 hours pass in wolvden time, the next time you log in you "rollover".
