Briar's Quest For Piasa (WE DID IT)

Posted 2021-02-04 20:58:01

I’m fairly new to the game and today I spent like an hour looking at all the bases and figuring out what I want my breeding project(s) to be and decided that Piasa and Striped Flint are my favorites so those are what I’m aiming for now. So I’m glad to see that Piasa has been done and that there’s a fairly clear way to get to it!

You give Cara an ultrasound... She is pregnant with 5 puppies!

You give Cricket an ultrasound... She is pregnant with 4 puppies!

Still no luck with any TIII's, but I have to give Stinkbug props for having four TII pups out of five today. Combined with her first litter, she has a 66% TII pass rate so far. What a champ.

Oh no. 20+ pups yeeted without mercy so far for this project but I kinda want to keep this one.

She has two Silver marks (one directly from dad, one combo with mom) and Auburn Smudge in slot 10. Overall her marks are beautifully cohesive and natural looking. I'd have to buy a base changer and some opacity changers, but look at what she could be...

Wow, Cara's litter was all TIIs. All five of them.

I do have to wonder sometimes if it's all just RNG or if some wolves are 'luckier' than others.

At the very least, I'm getting some pretty puppies out of this quest.

Ooh, hello there new Tombac stud.

I'm debating whether to change up my strategy a little and start studding to this guy instead of cheap Foxes. 1800sc is a *lot* for me right now for a single breeding, but it would cut the different possible outcomes from 23 down to 11 bases. There would also apparently be a boost to the puppies' chance of directly inheriting a parent's base.

I may give it a try at least once. Sunbeam ages up tomorrow and then the project will hit a bit of a wall as everyone goes through breeding cooldowns, so it's not like I'll *need* a big reserve of SC to throw at studs every rollover.

Looks like there's now a second Piasa in game! He's second gen. His family tree is blowing my mind.

You give Sunbeam an ultrasound... She is pregnant with 3 puppies!

Welp, I'm broke now lol. I hope this was worth it. Halving the number of unwanted results with a bonus chance for b/w het eyes, fun stuff!

...Well, it's not Piasa, but I'd say that was worth it.

Congrats, Sunbeam, for being the first to produce a TIII for this project! And now my quest for Piasa is going to be a LOT more cost effective, as I won't have to stud to a Fox (or Tombac) again \o/ Time to spoil this baby with some RMAs.
