Oh I forgot we had dark mode now! I can edit it sooonnnn as I get back to PC. It was made before that was a thing so it looks fine (least to my eyes) on the light bg lol

Ohhhhh, this sounds really cool! I'd love if they had a little mechanic like this! Though admittedly I'd want future mechanics to really give more wolves more use, it's nice to give existing roles more use too :>

Plus the poisons and boosts sound suuuuper helpful. Fur dye could be interesting too depending on how its done.

Originally I actually planned to have foraging skill be a whole separate role of it's own tbh! Buuutt I figured it might fit in better with herbalist since they already forage on their own.

Arguably either could work I'd imagine tho if admins wanted it as a separate role.

With the nature of buffs like the ones you mentioned, shrooms gotta be a fair bit rarer than other items because boosts, though other than that i have not much to add

I love this idea :)

Foraging is so popular right now in the real world, it would be so cool to find commonly known mushrooms that people hunt for! I would love a decor with morel mushrooms or lion's mane. There are so many to choose from and they're all so weird looking! It would be cool if they could all be visible together. A background would definitely be fun too!
Glowing mushrooms could be really pretty too.

I'm new but I feel like it wouldn't be unreasonable to be able to craft a marking applicator from a lot of mushrooms instead of just a temporary effect - like there are the gem craftable markings on the lion version right? It wouldn't have to be as soon as mushrooms were added but eventually down the line it could definitely be an option!

Support!  Firstly because mushrooms are a common occurrence in nature that it would simply be fun to see more of in the game.  There's a lot of great suggestions for the potential use of mushrooms here.  The two I'm throwing enthusiastic support behind are:

1. Boosts.  Sometimes it would be good to have a small boost without needing to use a whole healing salve or buy bone marrow (and gaurana is simply a no go for me given the GC cost per use).

2. Fur dye. Since it's temporary and non-heritable, I see it as distinct from marking applicators.  Temporary dye would:
- Allow someone without much SC/GC to temporarily enjoy colorful wolves
- Allow for dying wolves to celebrate an in-game or pack lore event
- Allow experimentation with color on a wolf that feels more immersive than the wardrobe, which might be able to assist in future base or marking applicator decisions

I personally really like the ideas for temporary yet easy to make fur dye/paint (yes pls that sounds so fun for characterization stuff!!) and foraging skill especially.
Poisons I think could use more work but sound promising & have potential
Boosts sound like they could be really helpful for new players maybe? We already have the lucky foot for battle booste & guarana for energy. Could be integrated somehow I suppose
I also feel like mushrooms should be HERBALIST ONLY! If herbs are herbalist only, then mushrooms should be even moreso-mushrooms can be very hard and risky to identify; it should require the pack's resident expert to acquire them. Leader should be able to find them in explore as well since that's how it with herbs of course. Just no hunters/scouts in my opinion,,
