Day 30 - 3/2/2021

-Tuco and Angel Eyes were weaned today

- Ladou grew into an adult today! I love this inbred little monster. I think I'm going to avoid lore-ing him so I can get rid of him when another gorgeous Feldspar crosses my path. I don't wanna get too attached. Maybe I'll just eat my words since I've already partially lored him

- Every day it seems like I get fewer and fewer lunar essence from explore encounters lmao. First day I maxed out, second day I got ~ 80, yesterday I got 50. Thank god I already got the eyes or I would be pretty upset

- Gonna start putting lineage links in my wolve's description like 🐺 does cause that seems genius and I hate going into the family tree for that stuff. Plus, pups are just deleted from the offspring area once they are chased and I can avoid that with wardrobe links

- Rupy's level 13! Boosted her up to 420 stats

Day 31 - 3/3/2021

- I was wrong about the date of the pair bonding quest, but I got it now! Gehenna and Skaen are officially pair bonded and mated :)

- Rupy's still got diarrhea

- Arwyn's got the full jewelry set now, so I'm focusing on buying the pets next

- I have not had a single successful hunt today and I have a hunt quest :/

Day 32 - 3/4/2021

- Finally cured Rupy's poopy butt, Nasiphe got a cough but was cured right away

- Arwyn's an adol today! Gosh she looks so pretty in her jewelry

- Made a BG for Rupy yesterday :) love the look of it. I'm gonna start hoarding the materials now to hopefully deck out a few more wolves

- Ugh I need to cull, like, today. Komorebi is going for sure since his lore's run dry and I'm not as taken with his appearance as I was before. Maagwi could go either way. Naadirr is staying even though he's inbred just cause the boy is so gosh darn pretty. Anodyne is gonna ;;;;; have to go ;.;.;.;.; frick. Poly's stats and place in the hunting party are keeping her around for a bit more, but since I have a descendant of her's I'm planning on keeping, as soon as some promising adols age up she'll be yeeted. Ladou is staying cause pretty (until I find a feldspar I like better aha)

- Anodyne is on the TC!

- Yeah I bought another pup, so what. He looked funny and I liked his big ol face

Day 33 - 3/5/2021

- Rupy made it to level 14! 452 stats

- Anodyne was bought out, and it looks like he'll be a keeper :) that makes my heart very happy

- My rollover summaries have been dry af recently, but hopefully Gehenna's upcoming litter will add a little spice. I've been putting off writing lore but that would also be an easy fix for this little slump. It seems that time goes so fast in-game and I'm rushing to keep up lmao

- Oh! Since the first event is ending tonight (I think?) I wanna make a log of what stuff I picked up:

I guess these are good odds if I ever want any base in the future events, but granted I was playing way more than what's considered sustainable lmao. I don't know if I'm willing to double down my efforts in the future.

- Okay, I'm gonna write lore today!! I'm thinking its gonna be more about the kiddies since I love the dynamic of the wolves in the serpent skirt, but I've also gotta address the first-ever pair bond between Skaen and Gehenna, Terrine's litter, Fhionne's litter, Rupina's litter, the fall festival, the dreamlands, and Arwyn's addition to the clan Diviner's squad. That's a lot and I probably won't include nearly all of it but lol at least I'm not dry for inspiration

- Moving the hunting parties around is so painful. I finally kicked Poly from Sunstone and replaced her with Arphid as a chaser and their synergy only went down to 77%. Also kicked Komorebi from the Half Moon party but didn't have any replacement. I probably shouldn't be making huge changes when winter is right about to start but lol

- Komorebi and Polyantha are both going up for sale!

- I'm not impulse buying anymore at least ;.; The only wolves I'm going to bring in from the outside are low generation T2 wolves who can give me pretty babies. This is taking waaaayyyy more time than its worth though lmao

- I finally caught up on The Ashen Cypress Legacy and wowie, if you're severely missing Fierce Grace and Heartland's type lore like I am, it'll be a wonderful treat to read through. Rizu is an excellent writer. I'll surely be following for future updates

- Rupy's got a poopy butt again!!! Cured ugh

- Rupy caught a poopy butt again. My girl. Its hard to imagine her pulling a harem when she's constantly shitting herself. Do better

- Poly and Komo were sold and are in new homes. Happy! Poly's in a group named "Celery" which (if I'm correct in my assumptions) means sell-ery and that's fucking hilarious lmfao. Komo looks like he'll be a keeper? At least for a little while

Lore Post

The big players in this post so I don't have to link them in the post itself: Elan, Fhionne, Rinwal, Hallothyn, Robot, Gehenna, Skaen, Rupina, Terrine, Extotia

The fall Festival

The crisp Autumn air had arrived at Shiawase’s claim in the mountains and Elan was up to her ears in tasks. The clan had expressed a desire to celebrate the flourish of color in a grand last-hurrah before winter hit, so naturally, Rupina did all she could to meet their desires. That was something Elan admired in the alpha a great deal, but it also made her seem strangely unapproachable. Elan was no shrinking violet, but in front of Rupina, she couldn’t help but feel uncharacteristically self-aware.

Elan had spent the last two days working under the pack’s resident herbalist, Exotia, to try to get all the relevant herbs and spices harvested in time for the festival. It had been a hellish experience, and although Elan was slow to make enemies, she found Exotia absolutely detestable and would be happy if they never spoke again. At first, she tried to sympathize with the she-wolf, having just lost two of her pups to illnesses with the father soon passing away from old age. She thought it must be hard for one wolf to shoulder such a burden, so she tried to be understanding. However, that grain of sympathy she held would soon be drowned out by the shockingly abrasive demands, commands, and snide remarks. Maybe Elan was just a bit too sensitive to work with such people.

Either way, she was thankful that her hellish internship had finally ended. Today was the day of the festival and all the excitement Elan had squashed down came back to the surface. She carefully adjusted her arnica crown and fluffed her fur. The wolf beside her barked an airy laugh.

“Preening for who, Elan?” Fhionne asked slyly, batting her eyelashes.

Elan blushed deeply. Instead of a response, she coughed and tried to change the subject.

“Where are the pups?”

Fhionne let out another beautiful puff of laughter and moved around to Elan’s side, carefully grooming her fur in a manner only a patient and meticulous wolf like Fhionne could manage. Elan swallowed her embarrassment and allowed the wolf to continue, knowing the payoff would be worth it.

“They are playing amongst themselves,” Fhionne answered belatedly, gesturing over to a pile-up of adolescent wolves near the entrance of the Skirt.

It was remarkable seeing how well all the pups got along. When she wasn’t hunting, she was often helping out Fhionne with the pups, and they’d grown quite close to each other and the young ones in her short time here. She was still grasping the dynamics of the pack, but it was obvious how revered the three leading wolves were by the rest of the pack. Apparently, it hadn’t always been that way. There was a lot of dissension in the months prior to Elan’s arrival, and apparently the rockiness almost led to an insurrection. She couldn’t imagine such a thing happening with the current atmosphere.

While she was here, there was never a shortage of food, an outstanding argument, or a challenge to the strict rule of their exalted leaders. Granted, they had met with their fair share of tragedies. While she wasn’t especially close with Terrine, Rupina’s daughter, she, along with another handful of wolves, gathered together to comfort the grieving mother after the loss of two of her newborns. Elan had felt a little awkward attempting conversation with the daughter of the object of her affections, but she felt she couldn’t hide behind such a petty reason for much longer. Although she didn’t know the she-wolf for long, the deep-seated sorrow in the wolf made Elan ache to comfort her. She resolved herself to slowly approach the wolf with friendship in the future.

To add insult to injury, Rupina had a successful litter just prior to Terrine’s tragedy. While the alpha had tried to comfort her daughter in her time of need, the pack and her newborn pups took up a big chunk of her time. Through the whispers of the more gossipy residents of the pack, she had learned that Rupina had not raised her first litter with nearly the amount of care that she was with her second. This favoritism left a bad taste in Elan’s mouth, but Fhionne, the ever-observant bleeding heart of the pack assured Elan that it was simply Rupina’s attempt to not make the same mistake twice. Although Terrine tried not to let the hurt show, as she truly adored her half-siblings and spent a great deal of time with them, Elan could sense something deeply resentful within her.

The bustle near the center of the camp started ramping up and Elan knew the festivities were about to begin. She shook the morose thoughts from her head, resolved to enjoy the party to the best of her abilities. A long cacophony of howls erupted, signaling the entrance of the three leading wolves. Rupina stepped up in the center and their eyes met for a half a second. A half-smile drew up the corners of the alpha’s lips and Elan’s heartbeat quickened. She moved her gaze to the pack as a whole and started her address.

After the alpha’s address, the wolves got louder and started to feast on the spoils of their hard work. The hearty scent of rosemary and nutmeg crusted lamb made her mouth water. She turned to Fhionne.

“Shall we?”

Fhionne smiled and nodded her assent. She called her pups over from the puppy pileup and they bounded up to her happily. Rinwal cosied up between Elan’s front paws and Hallothyn jumped up on Fhionne’s back, still full of energy. They all moved to the center of the camp. Robot was apparently in charge of distributing food. Personally, she got along with the grumpy wolf just fine. Their hunting party was small, so getting along with their colleagues was imperative. She thought she understood the wolf better than most, just based on the amount of time they spent together.

“The fattiest, juiciest cut, please,” She asked, sending a wink to the large wolf for good measure.

“You’ll get what everyone else gets,” he grumbled.

Even so, she saw him sift through the available meats and chose a substantial piece for their group. She thanked him and dragged the piece off to a quiet corner to enjoy with Fhionne and her pups. Once they’d settled and eaten their fill, the pups went off to play again and she and Fhionne were left to their own conversation. Elan’s eyes followed Rupina during lulls in their chat.

“Your crush is nauseatingly, teeth-rottingly sweet, but may I enjoy a little of your attention?” The she-wolf joked. Elan blushed again, stuttering her reply.

“I just admire her.”

“Of course, little Elan.” She let a prolonged huff, looking a bit more pensive than the air of her words would let on. “I just wish,” she paused for a hot minute, obviously thinking hard over her next words. “I just wish you’d have fallen for someone else.”

The honesty of her words dampened Elan’s spirits a little, leaving the wolf a little hurt and confused.

“Why do you say that?”

“You’re my dear friend, Elan. I want you to live a long, happy life wanting for nothing.”

She paused.

“And I want you to receive all the love you deserve. I want someone for you who can dedicate themselves to your happiness.”

She left the rest of her thought unsaid, but Elan already knew what she was getting at. Rupina was married to the pack, and at most, Elan could only hope to occupy a little corner of her heart. She nosed at the pretty wolf’s cheek.

“Thank you, Fhionne. But I can’t do much now that I’ve already fallen.”

Fhionne sighed, reciprocating Elan’s affectionate gesture.

“I suppose I’m not exactly in a position to give such advice anyhow. I fell for my dear pups’ father after just a brief meeting.”

“I guess we’re both hopeless, huh?”

“That’s right.”

They cuddled together in the crisp fall air, lamenting on their unfortunate fates while indulging in the festival atmosphere. Despite it all, it was a fantastic night.

It was beginning to get dark by the time the festivities died down. Most wolves had retired to their dens, but a few groups stayed around the fire, chatting and reveling in the last days of fall. Elan spied Gehenna settling down with her lover, Skaen, and a smile ghosted her lips. Although the pack was prosperous and tight-knit, they weren’t exactly welcoming to outsiders. It was a bit tough for Elan to integrate herself, but thanks to the kindness of Fhionne and Gehenna, she was able to adjust well enough. They were her first friends, so seeing Gehenna so happy in her new relationship made her heart swell. Skaen was absolutely head over heels for her. Seeing him fret over his newly pregnant bond was very entertaining. Considering his usually cold and aloof demeanor, the kindness and attention he showed Gehenna was heart-melting. Only Gehenna could transform such a wolf into putty. She watched the pair as they situated themselves by the fire, Skaen trying to prepare a soft soft for her to lay.

Elan could feel her eyelids getting heavier by the minute. She turned to Fhionne to let her know she was retiring for the night, only to find the she-wolf contentedly snoozing in her fur. She chuckled lightly, setting her head on her paws and preparing to spend the night outside. She could only hope that the future of the pack remained so peaceful.

TL;DR

Fhionne and Elan spend the festival together with Fhionne's pups as a bonus. Fhionne expresses disdain and sadness about Elan's crush on Rupina because she knows Rupina can only show her dear friend so much attention. They observe the lovey-dovey-ness of the Clan's first pair bond, Skaen and Gehenna. I already wrote this tl;dr once better but it froze when I tried to submit it. So deal with this crappy version, for me >:( love u

Day 35 - 3/7/2021

- First day of winter! The hunting art is always so gorgeous :)

- So, uh, Gehenna had her little with Skaen and... um, that kinda embarrassing for you. They had an imaginative male and a dedicated female. Both with just 1 marking and T1 bases. Not hot, guys. We'll try for better next time.

- Took Gehenna off pupsitting duties and added her to the Half Moon party

- Ruelle's in heat today. Gotta get her studded up pretty

Day 36 - 3/8/2021

- Yesterday I bought a mama wolf named Barley and two freeloading pups x and x for 7 SC! The pups are getting chased, but I love the mama :)

- Speaking of chasing, goodbye to your first litter, Skaen and Gehenna. Winter is harsh and so are the qualifications for staying. Imaginative boy, dedicated girl, see ya

- Pretty Rafflesia is an adol today!

- Nasiphe and Tohopko are also adults today! Gosh they pretty things

- Nasiphe's in heat. I don't know if I wanna pair bond her yet, and theres a stud I've had my eyes on recently

- Ugh, bless all of you that raise and chase. I just found this boy in the Tundra and I am so deeply in love with him. Still thinking of a name. Only 204 stats, but we can work on it :)

- I'm going to have Barley take Maagwi's place in the Sunstone party and Maagwi is getting chased. He's such a lovely boy, but his lineage is messy so I don't want to breed him. Besides, Arwyn is here to take up the clan Diviner's role. I'm thinking in lore, he'll be going on an extended pilgrimage. He'll always be welcome back to Shiawase though :) Goodbye baby boy, hope to see you again

- Writing more lore for tommy! Sorry to those of you that hate reading long posts. I'll try to get better at writing more comprehensive TL;DRs so those that hate reading/can't read a lot of text can keep up :)

- I say this cause I used to buy my ADHD brother a lot of books when I was younger and end up hurt when he never ended up reading them. I'm still trying to figure out what's most accessible to the larger population, so if you have suggestions for me, please don't hesitate to let me know!

Day 37 - 3/9/2021

- Omg I almost forgot to make an entry today

- Tuco and Angel Eyes are adols today! Gosh I'm so excited for them to grow up

- Nothing much to note other than that. Mostly been focusing on hunting and selling food cause I want to start collecting the biome-specific items. It would be a neat goal to collet all biome exclusive decor items and then move to the next, but I can imagine that would take suchhh a long time. So I'm considering it :)

- Toho and Alien both got sick today? Nice one guys. Real nice.

- Extotia's in heat, probs not gonna breed her just yet

- Lore's still being written

- bc I am a disgusting stalker I was checking on the fates of the wolves I sold and, surprisingly, Petrallea is still alive and kicking. Plus, Anodyne got a gorgeous new name: Aurorus! He's also a stud :o I wonder if the new owner would find it creepy for me to send him some stud requests. I am a gross little sewer creature though so it wouldn't exactly be out of character. Polyantha has officially been upgraded from the sell-ery to the hunters! And finally, Titan Arum has been renamed Terrasen and is comfortably living in his new home! He seems to have been transferred to yet another new cave. Other people are so much better at names than me :^)

- Its so satisfying seeing sold wolves living out their lives in new homes :o I shouldn't get used to it though lmao, I produce a lot of potato boys

Day 38 - 3/10/2021

- Moedre aged into an adol! Gosh I love his face

- Finally named the tawny NBW Uri :)

- Picked up an albinism carrier, now I have one of each! I think in lore I'm going to have any muties/mutie carriers be considered eerie/uncanny existences considering they don't (in the eyes of the clan) follow traditional genetic rules, so they often get placed in the role of clan Diviners. Hence Arwyn, and now this girl, Diti! Diti is going to be studying under Arwyn to hopefully relieve some of the burden when she grows up.

- Gotta nest Ruelle today

- Diti is super freaking pretty wow

- I finally equipped my hoard of Arctic Whites to a bunch of wolves. Not my favorite butterfly, but they are far too prevalent in the Tundra lmao
